قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ ٱللَّهَ وَحْدَهُۥ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا ۖ فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They said, ‘Hast thou come to us that we may worship Allah alone and forsake what our fathers used to worship? Bring us, then, that which thou threatenest us with, if thou art of the truthful.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

انہوں نے کہا کیا تو اس لئے ہمارے پاس آیا ہے کہ ہم صرف ایک اللہ ہی کی عبادت کریں اور ان کو چھوڑ دیں جن کی ہمارے آباءو اجداد عبادت کیا کرتے تھے۔ پس ہمارے پاس وہ لے آ جس سے تو ہمیں ڈراتا ہے اگر تو سچوں میں سے ہے۔

French

Ils dirent : « Es-tu venu vers nous pour que nous adorions Allāh Seul, et que nous abandonnions ce que nos pères adoraient ? Fais donc descendre sur nous ce dont tu nous menaces, si tu es du nombre des véridiques. »

Sie sprachen: "Bist du zu uns gekommen, damit wir Allah allein verehren und das verlassen, was unsere Väter anbeteten? Bring uns denn her, was du uns androhst, wenn du wahrhaftig bist!"

他们说: “(呼德啊!) [a]你来到我们这里, 是要我们崇拜独一无二的安拉而抛弃我们祖先所崇拜的吗? 如果你是诚实的, 你就带来你所恐吓我们的 (惩罚) 吧!”

Essi risposero: «Sei tu venuto da noi per far sì che noi adoriamo Allah soltanto e rinneghiamo quel che i nostri padri adoravano? Portaci dunque quello di cui ci minacci, se sei tra i giusti.»

Ellos respondieron: “¿Has venido a nosotros para que adoremos a Al-lah solamente y abandonemos lo que adoraban nuestros padres? Tráenos, pues, aquello con lo que nos amenazas, si eres veraz”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

انہوں نے کہا (اے ہود)! کیا تو ہمارے پاس اس لئے آیا ہے کہ ہم اللہ (کو) ایک (قرار دے کر اس) کی عبادت کریں اور جن کی ہمارے باپ دادا پرستش کرتے تھے ان کو چھوڑ دیں۔ پس جس بات سے تو ہم کو ڈراتا ہے اگر تو سچا ہے تو اس کو لے آ۔

10:79; 11:63,88.

Commentary:

Being unable to meet the arguments of Hud, disbelievers took a new line and declared that they would rather die than give up the faith of their fathers. That it was the threatened punishment of God that they challenged Hud to bring upon them is clear from the reply which he gave them and which is contained in the words: Indeed there have already fallen on you punishment and wrath from your Lord, occurring in the following verse.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

انہوں نے جواب دیا "کیا تو ہمارے پاس اس لیے آیا ہے کہ ہم اکیلے اللہ ہی کی عبادت کریں اور اُنہیں چھوڑ دیں جن کی عبادت ہمارے باپ دادا کرتے آئے ہیں؟ اچھا تو لے آ وہ عذاب جس کی تو ہمیں دھمکی دیتا ہے اگر تو سچا ہے"

English - Sahih

They said, "Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and leave what our fathers have worshipped? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."

انہوں نے کہا کیا تو ہمارے پاس اس لیے آیا ہے کہ ہم ایک الله کی بندگی کریں اور ہمارے باپ دادا جنہیں پوجتے رہے انہیں چھوڑ دیں پس جس چیز سے تو ہمیں ڈراتا ہے وہ لے آ اگرتو سچا ہے

They said, "Have you come to us that we (should) worship Allah Alone and we forsake what used to worship our forefathers? Then bring us of what you promise us, if you are of the truthful."

They said: 'Have you come to us that we should worship none other than Allah and forsake all whom our forefathers were wont to worship? Then bring upon us the scourge with which you have threatened us if you are truthful?'

They answered: "Have you come to say to us that we should worship only one God, abandoning those our ancestors had worshipped? If so, bring on us what you threaten us with, if what you say is true."
