ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۚ فَٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا۟ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَمَا كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘Those who took their religion for a pastime and a sport, and whom the life of the world beguiled.’ This day, then, shall We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they used to deny Our Signs.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

(اُن پر) جنہوں نے اپنے دین کو لغویات اور کھیل کود بنا رکھا تھا اور انہیں دنیا کی زندگی نے دھوکہ میں مبتلا کر دیا۔ پس آج کے دن ہم بھی انہیں اسی طرح بُھلا دیں گے جیسے وہ اپنے اس دن کی ملاقات کو بھلا بیٹھے تھے اور بسبب اس کے کہ وہ ہماری آیات کا انکار کیا کرتے تھے۔

French

Ceux qui prirent leur religion pour un amusement et un jeu, et qui furent trompés par la vie terrestre. »Donc aujourd’hui, Nous les oublierons, tout comme ils oublièrent la rencontre de leur jour que voici et tout comme ils reniaient Nos Signes.

German

die ihren Glauben als einen Zeitvertreib und ein Spiel nahmen und die das irdische Leben betörte." An diesem Tage nun werden Wir sie vergessen, wie sie die Begegnung an diesem ihren Tage vergaßen und wie sie Unsere Zeichen zu leugnen pflegten.

[b]“那些把自己的宗教当做笑话和游戏的 (不信者), 今世的生活诱惑了他们。” (安拉对他们说:) 今天[c]我放弃了他们, 因为他们完全放弃了他们今天会遇 (的观念), 也因为他们坚持拒绝我的迹象。

Quelli che presero la loro religione come un passatempo e un gioco, e che sono stati sedotti dalla vita mondana.» Oggi perciò Ci dimenticheremo di loro, come essi si sono scordati l'incontro di questo loro giorno, e come essi erano soliti negare i Nostri segni.

“Quienes tomaron su religión como juego y pasatiempo, y fueron seducidos por la vida de este mundo”. Este día, pues, los olvidaremos como ellos olvidaron el encuentro de este día suyo, y por negar Nuestros Signos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(ایسے کافر) جنہوں نے اپنے دین کو ہنسی اور کھیل بنا رکھا تھا اور دنیوی زندگی نے انہیں دھوکا میں ڈال رکھا تھا پس آج (خدا ان سے کہتا ہے کہ) ہم بھی ان کو چھوڑ[2] دیں گے جس طرح انہوں نے اپنے اس دن کے ملنے (کے خیال) کو بالکل چھوڑ رکھا [3]تھا‘ اور بوجہ اس کے کہ وہ ہماری آیتوں کا بضد انکار کرتے تھے۔

نَسِیَ کے معنے عربی زبان میں بھول جانے کے علاوہ تَرَکَ کے بھی ہوتے ہیں یعنی چھوڑ دیا۔ (اقرب)

یعنی اس کے لئے کوئی تیاری نہ کرتے تھے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[a]Those who took their religion for a pastime and a sport,[982] and whom the life of the world beguiled.’ This day, then, shall [b]We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they persisted in denying Our Signs.

5:58; 6:71.

45:35.

The disbelievers were convinced in their heart of hearts of the truth of Islam but, as they took their religion for a pastime, they refused to listen to the dictates of reason and to the voice of their conscience. So God will ignore them as they refused to believe that they will ever meet their Creator and they will have to render account of their deeds to Him.

[a]‘Those who took their religion for a pastime and a sport, and whom the life of the world beguiled.’ This day, [b]then, shall We forget them as they forgot the meeting of this day of theirs, and as they used to deny Our Signs.[951]

Commentary:

This verse qualifies the word "disbelievers" occurring in the preceding verse. The disbelievers spoken of at the end of that verse were convinced in their hearts of the truth of Islam but, as they took their religion as a pastime, they refused to listen to the dictates of reason and the voice of their conscience. So God forgot them even as they had forgotten the meeting of their Lord.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

جنہوں نے اپنے دین کو کھیل اور تفریح بنا لیا تھا اور جنہیں دنیا کی زندگی نے فریب میں مبتلا کر رکھا تھا اللہ فرماتا ہے کہ آج ہم بھی انہیں اسی طرح بھلا دیں گے جس طرح وہ اِس دن کی ملاقات کو بھولے رہے اور ہماری آیتوں کا انکار کرتے رہے"

English - Sahih

Who took their religion as distraction and amusement and whom the worldly life deluded." So today We will forget them just as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs and for having rejected Our verses.

جنہوں نے اپنا دین تماشا اور کھیل بنایا اور انہیں دنیا کی زندگی نے دھوکے میں ڈال دیا ہے سو آج ہم انہیں بھلا دیں گے جس طرح انہوں نے اس دن کی ملاقات کو بھلا دیا تھا اور جیسا وہ ہماری آیتوں سے انکار کرتے تھے

Those who took their religion (as) an amusement and play and deluded them the life (of) the world." So today We forget them as they forgot (the) meeting (of) their day, this, and [what] (as) they used to with Our Verses they reject.

اردہ تفصیرِ صغیر نوٹس ^*

نَسِیَ کے معنے عربی زبان میں بھول جانے کے علاوہ تَرَکَ کے بھی ہوتے ہیں یعنی چھوڑ دیا۔ (اقرب)

یعنی اس کے لئے کوئی تیاری نہ کرتے تھے۔

who have taken their religion as a diversion and a sport, and whom the present life has deluded.' -- Therefore today We forget them as they forgot the encounter of this their day, and that they denied Our signs.

وَقِيلَ ٱلْيَوْمَ نَنسَىٰكُمْ كَمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

And it will be said to them, ‘This day shall We forget you, as you forgot the meeting of this day of yours. And your resort is the Fire, and you will have no helpers.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور کہا جائے گا آج ہم تمہیں بھول جائیں گے جیسا کہ تم اپنے اِس دن کی ملاقات کو بھول گئے تھے اور تمہارا ٹھکانا جہنم ہوگا اور تمہارے کوئی مددگار نہ ہوں گے۔

Et il leur sera dit : « Aujourd’hui Nous vous oublierons tout comme vous aviez oublié la rencontre de votre Jour que voici. Et votre demeure est le Feu, et vous n’aurez pas d’aides.

E sarà detto loro: «Quest'oggi Noi vi dimenticheremo, come voi avete dimenticato l'incontro di questo vostro giorno. La vostra dimora è il fuoco, e non avrete chi vi aiuti.

Y se les dirá: “Hoy nos olvidaremos de vosotros, al igual que olvidasteis la reunión de este día vuestro. Vuestra morada es el Fuego, y no tendréis quien os ayude”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور ان سے کہا جائے گا کہ آج ہم نے تم کو اسی طرح بے مدد چھوڑ دیا ہے جس طرح کہ تم نے اس دن کی ملاقات کے خیال کو چھوڑ دیا تھا اور تمہارا ٹھکانا آگ ہوگا اور کوئی تمہاری مدد کرنے والا نہیں ہوگا۔

And it will be said to them, [a]‘This day shall We abandon you without help, even as you forgot the meeting of this your day.[2716] And your resort is the Fire, and you will have no helpers;’

Commentary:

The expression یومکم ھذا (this your day) means, "this day of your promised discomfiture and defeat".

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور ان سے کہہ دیا جائے گا کہ "آج ہم بھی اُسی طرح تمہیں بھلائے دیتے ہیں جس طرح تم اِس دن کی ملاقات کو بھول گئے تھے تمہارا ٹھکانا اب دوزخ ہے اور کوئی تمہاری مدد کرنے والا نہیں ہے

And it will be said, "Today We will forget you as you forgot the meeting of this Day of yours, and your refuge is the Fire, and for you there are no helpers.

اور کہا جائے گا آج ہم تمہیں فراموش کر دیں گے جیسا تم نے اپنے اس دن کے ملنے کو فراموش کر دیا تھا اور تمہارا ٹھکانہ دوزخ ہے اور تمہارا کوئی مددگارنہیں
