وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَیۡہِمُ الرِّجۡزُ قَالُوۡا یٰمُوۡسَی ادۡعُ لَنَا رَبَّکَ بِمَا عَہِدَ عِنۡدَکَ ۖ لَئِنۡ کَشَفۡتَ عَنَّا الرِّجۡزَ لَنُؤۡمِنَنَّ لَکَ وَلَنُرۡسِلَنَّ مَعَکَ بَنِیۡۤ اِسۡرٰٓءِیۡلَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And when there fell upon them the punishment, they said, ‘O Moses, pray for us to thy Lord according to that which He has promised to thee. If thou remove from us the punishment, we will surely believe in thee and we will surely send with thee the children of Israel.’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور جب بھی ان پر عذاب نازل ہوتا وہ کہتے اے موسیٰ! ہمارے لئے اپنے ربّ سے اس وعدہ کے نام پر جو اس نے تیرے ساتھ کیا ہے دعا کر۔ پس اگر تُو نے ہم سے یہ عذاب ٹال دیا تو ہم ضرور تیری بات مان لیں گے اور ضرور بنی اسرائیل کو تیرے ساتھ بھیج دیں گے۔
French
Et lorsque le châtiment tomba sur eux, ils dirent : « Ô Moïse, prie ton Seigneur pour nous d’après ce qu’Il t’a promis. Si tu nous débarrasses du châtiment, nous te croirons assurément, et nous enverrons en vérité avec toi les Enfants d’Israël. »

Mas cuando cayó sobre ellos el castigo, dijeron: “Oh, Moisés, implora por nosotros a tu Señor según lo que Él te ha prometido. Si retiras de nosotros el castigo, ciertamente creeremos en ti y enviaremos en verdad contigo a los hijos de Israel”.

اور جب (کبھی بھی) ان پر عذاب نازل ہوا تو وہ چلا اٹھتے کہ اے موسیٰ! اپنے رب کو وہ تمام وعدے یاد دلا کر پکار جو اس نے تجھ سے کئے ہیں اگر تو نے ہم سے عذاب دور کر دیا تو ہم تجھ پر ایمان لے آئیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو تیرے ساتھ بھیج دیں گے۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
And [a]when there fell upon them the punishment, they said, ‘O Moses, pray for us to thy Lord according to that which He has promised to thee. If thou remove from us the punishment, we will surely believe thee and we will surely send with thee the Children of Israel.’

And [a]when there fell upon them the punishment, they said, ‘O Moses, pray for us to thy Lord according to that which He has promised to thee. If thou remove from us the punishment, we will surely believe thee and we will surely send with thee the children of Israel.’[1024]

Commentary:
The words, according to that which He has promised to thee, may refer either to the promise which God made to Moses that He would listen to his prayers, or to the promise of God to forgive those who repented. The people of Pharaoh reminded Moses of these promises of God and asked him to pray to God in their behalf so that He might pardon them their sins and remove from them the punishments which had befallen them. The sentence may also mean, "pray for us to thy Lord, with the prayers which He has taught thee or in the way He has taught thee to pray."

جب کبھی اُن پر بلا نازل ہو جاتی تو کہتے "اے موسیٰؑ، تجھے اپنے رب کی طرف سے جو منصب حاصل ہے اس کی بنا پر ہمارے حق میں دعا کر، اگر اب کے تو ہم پر سے یہ بلا ٹلوا دے تو ہم تیری بات مان لیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو تیرے ساتھ بھیج دیں گے"

And when the punishment descended upon them, they said, "O Moses, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. If you [can] remove the punishment from us, we will surely believe you, and we will send with you the Children of Israel."

اور جب ان پر کوئی عذاب آتا تو کہتے اے موسیٰ ہمارے لیے اپنے رب سے دعا کر جس کا اس نے تجھ سے عہد کر رکھا ہے اگر تو نے ہم سے یہ عذاب دور کر دیا تو بے شک ہم تجھ پر ایمان لے آئيں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو تیرے ساتھ بھیج دیں گے

And when the wrath fell upon them, they said, 'Moses, pray to thy Lord for us by the covenant He has made with thee. If thou removest from us the wrath, surely we will believe thee, and send forth with thee the Children of Israel.'

Commentary:
