وہ لوگوں سے تو چُھپ جاتے ہیں جبکہ اللہ سے نہیں چُھپ سکتے۔ اور وہ ان کے ساتھ ہوتا ہے جب وہ راتیں ایسی باتیں کرتے ہوئے گزارتے ہیں جو وہ پسند نہیں کرتا۔ اور اللہ اُسے گھیرے ہوئے ہے جو وہ کرتے ہیں۔

Ils se cachent des hommes, alors qu’ils ne peuvent se cacher d’Allāh ; et Il est auprès d’eux quand ils passent la nuit complotant des affaires dont Il n’approuve pas. Et Allāh cerne tout ce qu’ils font.

Sie möchten sich vor den Menschen verbergen, doch vor Allah können sie sich nicht verborgen halten; und Er ist bei ihnen, wenn sie nächtens Ränke schmieden für Dinge, die Er nicht billigt. Und Allah wird ihr Tun vereiteln.

Procuran ocultarse de los hombres, pero no se cuidan de ocultarse de Al-lah; y Él está con ellos cuando pasan la noche tramando sobre asuntos que Él no aprueba. Pues Al-lah abarca todo cuanto hacen.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
وہ لوگوں سے پردہ رکھتے ہیں اور اللہ سے پردہ نہیں رکھتے۔ حالانکہ جب وہ رات کو ایسی باتوں کے مشورے کر رہے ہوتے ہیں جنہیں اللہ پسند نہیں کرتا (تو) وہ ان کے پاس ہوتا ہے اور جو کچھ وہ کر رہے ہیں اللہ اس کا قلع قمع کرنے والا ہے۔

یہ لو گ انسانوں سے اپنی حرکات چھپا سکتے ہیں مگر خدا سے نہیں چھپا سکتے وہ تواُس وقت بھی اُن کے ساتھ ہوتا ہے جب یہ راتوں کو چھپ کر اُس کی مرضی کے خلاف مشورے کرتے ہیں اِن کے سارے اعمال پر اللہ محیط ہے

They conceal [their evil intentions and deeds] from the people, but they cannot conceal [them] from Allah, and He is with them [in His knowledge] when they spend the night in such as He does not accept of speech. And ever is Allah, of what they do, encompassing.

یہ لوگوں سے تو چھپتے ہیں اور خدا سے نہیں چھپتے حالانکہ جب وہ راتوں کو ایسی باتوں کے مشورے کیا کرتے ہیں جن کو وہ پسند نہیں کرتا ان کے ساتھ ہوا کرتا ہے اور خدا ان کے (تمام) کاموں پر احاطہ کئے ہوئے ہے

English - Arberry
They hide themselves from men, but hide not themselves from God; for He is with them while they meditate at night discourse unpleasing to Him; God encompasses the things they do.

Surely, He knows full well all that is hidden in the breasts.

اگر تم انکار کرو تو یقیناً اللہ تم سے مستغنی ہے اور وہ اپنے بندوں کے لئے کفر پسند نہیں کرتا اور اگر تم شکر کرو تو وہ اسے تمہارے لئے پسند کرتا ہے۔ اور کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والی کسی دوسری کا بوجھ نہیں اٹھائے گی۔ پھر تم سب کو اپنے ربّ کی طرف لوٹنا ہے۔ پس وہ تمہیں ان اعمال سے باخبر کرے گا جو تم کیا کرتے تھے۔ یقیناً وہ سینوں کے رازوں کو خوب جانتا ہے۔

Si vous êtes ingrats, assurément Allāh Se suffit à Lui-Même et est indépendant de vous. Et Il n’approuve pas l’ingratitude de la part de Ses serviteurs. Mais si vous êtes reconnaissants, cela Lui plaît en vous. Et aucune âme porteuse de fardeau ne portera le fardeau d’une autre. Ensuite vers votre Seigneur sera votre retour ; et Il vous informera de ce que vous faisiez. Assurément, Il sait très bien tout ce qui est caché dans les poitrines.

Wenn ihr ungläubig seid, so ist Allah euer nicht bedürftig. Doch Ihm gefällt Unglauben an Seinen Dienern nicht. Seid ihr aber dankbar, so gefällt Ihm das an euch. Commentary:
شکر as explained elsewhere (14:8) denotes the proper use of Divine favours in a manner intended by God. کفر is the misuse of those favours. It is the proper or improper use of God-given powers, faculties, and of Divine favours, blessings and opportunities which is called شکر (thankfulness) or کفر (ingratitude) in the Quran.

اگر تم کفر کرو تو اللہ تم سے بے نیاز ہے، لیکن وہ اپنے بندوں کے لیے کفر کو پسند نہیں کرتا، اور اگر تم شکر کر و تو اسے وہ تمہارے لیے پسند کرتا ہے کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والا کسی دوسرے کا بوجھ نہ اٹھائے گا آخرکار تم سب کو اپنے رب کی طرف پلٹنا ہے، پھر وہ تمہیں بتا دے گا کہ تم کیا کرتے رہے ہو، وہ تو دلوں کا حال تک جانتا ہے

If you disbelieve - indeed, Allah is Free from need of you. And He does not approve for His servants disbelief. If you are unthankful, God is independent of you, yet He approves not unthankfulness in His servants; but if you are thankful, He will approve it in you. And no soul laden bears the load of another. Then to your Lord shall you return, and He will tell you what you have been doing. He knows the thoughts within the breasts.

If you disbelieve, know well that Allah has no need of you. Yet He does not like unbelief in His servants. But if you are thankful, your thankfulness will please Him. اور آسمان میں بہت سے فرشتے ہیں کہ ان کی شفاعت (کسی کو) کوئی فائدہ نہیں پہنچاتی۔ سوائے اس کے کہ اللہ ایسا کرنے کی اس شخص کے متعلق اجازت دے‘ جس کو وہ اپنی مرضی کے مطابق پاتا ہو اور پسند کرتا ہو۔

And how many an angel is there in the heavens, but their intercession shall be of no avail, except after Allah gives permission to whomsoever He wills and pleases.[2884]
Besides the meaning given in the text the expression means, 'except regarding one who conforms to Allah’s will and with whom He is pleased.'
