4:164

۞ إِنَّآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ كَمَآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ وَٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ ۚ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ وَعِيسَىٰ وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُونُسَ وَهَٰرُونَ وَسُلَيْمَٰنَ ۚ وَءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ زَبُورًا

Aaron (Harun(as)) / Prophethood OfAllah / Revelation Through Chosen MessengersAyyub(as) / JobDavid (Dawud(as)) / Favours Of God OnIsaac (Ishaq(as))Ishmael (Isma‘il(as))Jacob (Ya‘qub(as)) / ProphetJonah (Yunus(as))Messengers (Rusul) / Holy Prophet(sa) As AMuhammad(sa) / RevelationsProphets(as,Anbiya’) / Mentioned In Qur’anRevelation / To Prophets(as)Solomon (Sulaiman(as)) / Story OfZabur / Psalms, Scriptures
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Surely, We have sent revelation to thee, as We sent revelation to Noah and the Prophets after him; and We sent revelation to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and his children and to Jesus and Job and Jonah and Aaron and Solomon, and We gave David a Book.
6:87

وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَٱلْيَسَعَ وَيُونُسَ وَلُوطًا ۚ وَكُلًّا فَضَّلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Allah / Chose Above All PeoplesAl-Yasa‘ / ElishaElisha (Alyasa‘(as))Ishmael (Isma‘il(as))Jonah (Yunus(as))Lot (Lut(as)) / Messenger Of AllahProphets(as,Anbiya’) / Superiority Of SomeSolomon (Sulaiman(as)) / Given WisdomAllah / Revelation Through Chosen MessengersMessengers (Rusul) / Sent To All PeoplesNoah (Nuh(as)) / Descendants OfRighteous (Salihin) / Example Of

And We also guided Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot; and each one did We exalt above the people.
6:88

وَمِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْ وَإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ ۖ وَٱجْتَبَيْنَٰهُمْ وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

Straight PathAllah / Revelation Through Chosen MessengersJonah (Yunus(as))Messengers (Rusul) / Sent To All Peoples
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And We exalted some of their fathers and their children and their brethren, and We chose them and We guided them in the straight path.
10:99

فَلَوْلَا كَانَتْ قَرْيَةٌ ءَامَنَتْ فَنَفَعَهَآ إِيمَٰنُهَآ إِلَّا قَوْمَ يُونُسَ لَمَّآ ءَامَنُوا۟ كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْخِزْىِ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

Jonah (Yunus(as))NinevehProphecy / Can Be Postponed Or AvertedProvisions / WorldlyPunishment / Averting Of

Why was there no other people, save the people of Jonah, who should have believed so that their belief would have profited them? When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in the present life, and We gave them provision for a while.
21:88

وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Adoration (Sabbih), Praise, Exalt, Pray, Glorify / Glory Be To AllahAffliction (Bala’)Anger (Ghadab) / Man’s Anger, Rage, (Ghaiz)Dhun-NunJonah (Yunus(as))Prayers Of The Holy Qur’an / For ForgivenessPrayers Of The Holy Qur’an / For Deliverance

And remember Dha’l-Nun, when he went away in anger, and he thought that We would never cause him distress and he cried out in depths of darkness, saying, ‘There is no God but Thou, Holy art Thou. I have indeed been of the wrongdoers.’
37:140

وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Jonah (Yunus(as))Nineveh

And surely Jonah also was one of the Messengers,
37:141

إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ

When he fled to the laden ship;
37:142

فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ

Jonah (Yunus(as))

And he cast lots with the crew of the ship and was of the losers.
37:143

فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ

And the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself.
37:144

فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ

Jonah (Yunus(as))

And had he not been of those who glorify God,
37:145

لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

Jonah (Yunus(as))

He would have surely tarried in its belly till the Day of Resurrection.
37:146

۞ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ

Jonah (Yunus(as))

Then We cast him on a bare tract of land, and he was sick;
37:147

وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ

Jonah (Yunus(as))

And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him.
37:148

وَأَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ

Jonah (Yunus(as))

And We sent him as a Messenger to a hundred thousand people or more,
37:149

فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

Jonah (Yunus(as))

And they believed; so We gave them provision for a while.
68:49

فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ ٱلْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ

FishJonah (Yunus(as))Moral Traits / SteadfastnessPatience (Sabr) / Holy Prophet(sa) And

So be thou steadfast in carrying out the command of thy Lord, and be not like the Man of the Fish when he called to his Lord and he was full of grief.
68:50

لَّوْلَآ أَن تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ نِعْمَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ لَنُبِذَ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ

Ni‘mat / FavoursJonah (Yunus(as))
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Had not a favour from his Lord reached him, he would have surely been cast upon a bare tract of land, while he would have been blamed by his people.
68:51

فَٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Allah / Chooses His MessengersRighteous (Salihin) / RewardedJonah (Yunus(as))

But his Lord chose him and made him one of the righteous.
