English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

As for man, when his Lord tries him and honours him and bestows favours on him, he says, ‘My Lord has honoured me.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس انسان کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب اُس کا ربّ اُس کی آزمائش کرتا ہے پھر اُسے عزّت دیتا اور اُسے نعمت عطا کرتا ہے تو وہ کہتا ہے میرے ربّ نے میرا اِکرام کیا ہے۔

French

Quant à l’homme, lorsque son Seigneur l’éprouve et l’honore et lui accorde des faveurs, il dit : « Mon Seigneur m’a honoré. »

German

Wenn sein Herr den Menschen prüft, indem Er ihn ehrt und Gnaden auf ihn häuft, dann spricht er: "Mein Herr hat mich geehrt."

Chinese

至于人, 当他的养主考验他时, 就赐予他荣誉, [d]降给他恩惠[1684], 他说: “(我现在达到了这个位分), 我的养主赐我荣耀了。”

Italian

Quanto all'uomo, quando il suo Signore lo mette alla prova e lo onora e gli concede favori, egli dice: «Il mio Signore mi ha onorato.»

Spanish

Y en cuanto al hombre, cuando su Señor le prueba, le honra y le concede favores dice: “Mi Señor me honra.”

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پس (ذرا دیکھ تو) انسان کی حالت کو کہ جب اس کا رب اسے آزمائش میںڈالتا ہے‘ اور اس کی عزت کرتا ہے اور اس پر نعمت نازل کرتا ہے تو وہ کہتا ہے کہ (میں ایسا ذیشان ہوں کہ) میرے رب نے (بھی) میری عزت کی۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

As for man, when his Lord tries him and honours him and [a]bestows favours[3338] on him, he says, ‘My Lord has honoured me.’

English - Five Volume Translation

As for man, when his Lord tries him and honours him and bestows favours on him, he says, ‘My Lord has honoured me[c].’

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

مگر انسان کا حال یہ ہے کہ اس کا رب جب اُس کو آزمائش میں ڈالتا ہے اور اُسے عزت اور نعمت دیتا ہے تو وہ کہتا ہے کہ میرے رب نے مجھے عزت دار بنا دیا

English - Sahih

And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."

لیکن انسان تو ایسا ہے کہ جب اسے اس کا رب آزماتا ہے پھر اسے عزت اور نعمت دیتا ہے تو کہتا ہے کہ میرے رب نے مجھے عزت بخشی ہے

安拉施惠于人, 有时是考验他的气质;有时是酬答他的善举。同样, 有时让他陷入困难之中, 以便按照他的功过试验他, 惩奖他。但人天生如斯, 当他安逸富足的时候, 就以为是自己的劳动成果和才智出众 («古兰经»: 28:79); 而当他遭到不幸的时候, 他便归咎于安拉。

Favours are bestowed upon man, sometimes to test his mettle; at other times to reward him for his good actions. Similarly, he is involved in troubles that he may be tried and rewarded or punished according to his desert. But man is so constituted that when he is in ease and affluence, he regards these things as the fruits of his own labour and superior intelligence (28:79); but when misfortunes overtake him, he attributes them to God.
