Commentary:

Commentary:
The verse purports to say that God has bestowed His favours upon men that they may make right use of them. A person who does not make right use of God’s gifts is guilty of ingratitude to Him. He who squanders away his wealth, in fact, seeks to shirk the responsibilities which lie upon him in connection with its proper use.

اِنَّ الۡاِنۡسٰنَ لِرَبِّہٖ لَکَنُوۡدٌ
اس آیت میں صحابہؓ سے لڑنے والوں کا ذکر کیا گیا ہے کہ وہ نہایت ناشکر گذار ہیں۔ یعنی صحابہؓ جو خدا کا کلام ان کے آگے پیش کرتے ہیں وہ بجائے ان کا اعزاز کرنے کے ان سے جنگ کرتے ہیں اور اپنے قول اور فعل سے اپنی ناشکری کی گواہی دیتے ہیں۔

کنود (ungrateful) is derived from کند. They say کند النعمة i.e. he dis-acknowledged a benefit; he was ungrateful. کند الشیءmeans, he cut the thing. کنود means, ungrateful man or woman; an unbeliever; a blamer of his Lord who remembers misfortunes and forgets favours; rebellious; niggardly; avaricious; who eats alone and beats his slaves. أرض کنود means, land that produces nothing (Lane & Aqrab).
Commentary:
The reference in the verse is to the arrogant, base and miserly disbeliever who is also a coward. He is cruel towards the weak and does not feed the poor.
