The Holy Prophet’s march on Mecca was so swift and sudden that the Meccans were taken completely by surprise. It came, as it were, a bolt from the blue for them. The verse may also apply to the Day of Resurrection, when with the blowing of the trumpet both the righteous and the guilty will stand before God’s Great Judgment Seat to render an account of their deeds.

The Holy Prophet’s march on Mecca was so swift and sudden that the Meccans were taken completely by surprise. It came, as it were, as a bolt from the blue.
