اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا وَمَاتُوۡا وَہُمۡ کُفَّارٌ فَلَنۡ یُّقۡبَلَ مِنۡ اَحَدِہِمۡ مِّلۡءُ الۡاَرۡضِ ذَہَبًا وَّلَوِ افۡتَدٰی بِہٖۤ ۗ اُولٰٓئِکَ لَہُمۡ عَذَابٌ اَلِیۡمٌ وَّمَا لَہُمۡ مِّنۡ نّٰصِرِیۡنَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
As for those who have disbelieved, and die while they are disbelievers, there shall not be accepted from any one of them even an earthful of gold, though he offer it in ransom. It is these for whom shall be a grievous punishment, and they shall have no helpers.

یقیناً وہ لوگ جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور مر گئے جبکہ وہ کافر تھے ان میں سے کسی سے زمین بھر سونا بھی ہرگز قبول نہیں کیا جائے گا اگرچہ وہ اُسے بطور فدیہ دینا چاہے۔ یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے لئے دردناک عذاب (مقدر) ہے۔ اور ان کے کوئی مددگار نہیں ہوں گے۔
French
Quant à ceux qui ne croient plus et qui meurent mécréants, il ne sera accepté d’aucun d’entre eux même la terre remplie d’or, bien qu’il l’offre comme rançon. Ceux-là auront un châtiment douloureux, et ils n’auront personne pour les secourir.

Die aber ungläubig waren und als Ungläubige sterben, von ihrer keinem soll selbst eine Welt voll Gold angenommen werden, auch wenn er es als Lösegeld bietet. Sie sind es, denen schmerzliche Strafe wird, und keine Helfer sollen sie finden.

En cuanto a los que no han creído y mueren en la incredulidad, no se aceptará de ninguno de ellos ni siquiera todo el oro de la tierra, aunque lo ofrezcan como rescate. Sufrirán un doloroso castigo y no tendrán defensores.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
جو لوگ منکر ہو گئے ہوں اور کفر (ہی) کی حالت میں مر گئے ہوں‘ ان میں سے کسی سے زمین بھر سونا (بھی) جسے وہ فدیہ کے طور پر پیش کرے ہرگز قبول نہیں کیا جائے گا۔ ان لوگوں کے لئے دردناک عذاب (مقدر) ہے اور ان کا کوئی بھی مددگار نہ ہوگا۔

As for [a]those who have disbelieved, and die while they are disbelievers, there shall not be accepted from anyone of them even the earthful of gold though he offer it as ransom. It is these for whom shall be a grievous punishment, and they shall have no helpers.

Commentary:
This verse further explains the true significance of repentance. So long as death does not overtake one and the door of performing good works is open, the door of repentance is also open. But in no case will mere lip-repentance of disbelievers or their alms be accepted. If there is no faith in the heart, mere giving of alms or mere apparently good works cannot win the pleasure of God, even if one spends large quantities of gold.

یقین رکھو، جن لوگوں نے کفر اختیار کیا اور کفر ہی کی حالت میں جان دی اُن میں سے کوئی اگر اپنے آپ کو سزا سے بچانے کے لیے روئے زمین بھر کر بھی سونا فدیہ میں دے تو اُسے قبول نہ کیا جائے گا ایسے لوگوں کے لیے دردناک سزا تیار ہے اور و ہ اپنا کوئی مددگار نہ پائیں گے
English - Sahih
Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. For those there will be a painful punishment, and they will have no helpers.

بے شک جو لوگ کافر ہوئے اور کفر کی حالت میں مر گئے تو کسی ایسے سے زمین بھر کر سونا بھی قبول نہیں کیا جائے گا اگرچہ وہ اس قدر سونا بدلے میں دے ان لوگوں کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے اور ان کا کوئی مددگار نہیں ہوگا

Commentary:

اے انسانو! ایک اہم مثال بیان کی جا رہی ہے پس اسے غور سے سنو۔ یقیناً وہ لوگ جنہیں تم اللہ کے سوا پکارتے ہو ہرگز ایک مکھی بھی نہ بنا سکیں گے خواہ وہ اِس کے لئے اکٹھے ہوجائیں اور اگر مکھی ان سے کچھ چھین لے تو وہ اُس کو اس سے چھڑا نہیں سکتے۔ کیا ہی بے بس ہے (فیض کا) طالب اور وہ جس سے (فیض) طلب کیا جاتا ہے۔
French
Ô hommes, une parabole vous est proposée ; écoutez-la donc. Assurément ceux que vous invoquez à la place d’Allāh ne peuvent pas créer ne serait-ce qu'une mouche, même s’ils se liguaient dans ce but. Et si la mouche leur arrachait quoi que ce soit, ils ne pourraient pas le lui reprendre. Faibles, en effet, sont les deux, le chercheur d’un bienfait et celui de qui le bienfait est recherché.

O ihr Menschen, ein Gleichnis ist geprägt, so höret darauf: Gewiss, jene, die ihr anruft statt Allah, werden in keiner Weise vermögen, (auch nur) eine Fliege zu erschaffen, wenn sie sich dazu auch zusammentäten. Und wenn die Fliege ihnen etwas raubte, sie können es ihr nicht entreißen. Schwach ist der Suchende wie der Gesuchte.

Certamente, coloro che voi invocate invece di Allah non possono creare neanche una mosca, nemmeno se si mettessero insieme per lo scopo. E se la mosca dovesse portar via alcunché da loro, essi non sarebbero in grado di recuperalo. Sono deboli, in verità, sia chi cerca, sia chi è cercato.

Oh, humanos, se os propone un ejemplo. ¡Escuchadlo pues! En verdad, quellos a quienes invocáis en lugar de Al-lah no pueden crear ni siquiera una mosca, aunque se unieran todos para esa finalidad. Y si la mosca les quitara algo, no podrían recuperarlo. Pues en verdad son débiles, tanto el que busca como el buscado.

اے لوگو! ایک بات تمہیں بتائی جاتی ہے تم اسے غور سے سنو! تم جن کو اللہ کے سوا پکارتے ہو وہ ایک مکھی بھی پیدا نہیں کر سکیں گے خواہ سب کے سب جمع ہو جائیں‘ بلکہ اگر ایک مکھی ان کے آگے سے کوئی چیز اچک کرلے جائے تو وہ اس چیزکو(بھی) چھڑا نہیںسکتے۔ یہ دعائیں مانگنے والا (بھی) اور جس سے دعائیں مانگی جاتی ہیں (وہ بھی) کتنے کمزور ہیں۔

The verse brings home to disbelievers the utter powerlessness and helplessness of their gods and their own folly in worshipping them. Their gods, it says, have no control over creation. They cannot create anything, not even a fly. Let alone creating anything—a worm, a fly, they do not possess even the power to recover from a fly anything which it snatches away from them, so weak are these gods and such hopeless idiots are their votaries!

O people, an example is presented, so listen to it. Indeed, those you invoke besides Allah will never create [as much as] a fly, even if they gathered together for that purpose. And if the fly should steal away from them a [tiny] thing, they could not recover it from him. Weak are the pursuer and pursued.
