阿布•拉赫卜这用语的意思也可以指一个发明会引起火与焰的东西的人, 也可指一个自己在火焰中焚毁的人。根据后一种意思, 可以把这节经文解释为一种预见, 即 “近代” 两个主要政治集团将毁于它们自己生产的炮火武器, 诸如原子弹和其他核武器。这节经文也说明, 这些国家的结账日不远了。
یعنی وہ آخر میں ضرور دنیوی یا اُخروی عذاب میں پڑ کر رہیں گے جو ویسی ہی شعلہ مارنے والی آگ ہوگی جیسا کہ ان کا دل اسلام کے خلاف بغض سے شعلے مارتا ہے۔
