قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّیۡ قَتَلۡتُ مِنۡہُمۡ نَفۡسًا فَاَخَافُ اَنۡ یَّقۡتُلُوۡنِ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
He said, ‘My Lord, I killed a person from among them, and I fear that they will kill me.

اس نے کہا اے میرے ربّ! یقیناً میں نے ان کا ایک شخص قتل کیا ہوا ہے۔ پس میں ڈرتا ہوں کہ وہ مجھے قتل کر دیں گے۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
(موسیٰ نے) کہا‘ اے میرے رب! میں نے فرعون کی قوم میں سے ایک شخص کو قتل کیا تھا۔ پس میں ڈرتا ہوں کہ وہ مجھے قتل نہ کر دیں (اور تیرا پیغام [3]نہ پہنچ سکے) ۔
یعنی ڈر کی وجہ جان کا خوف نہیں‘ بلکہ پیغام نہ پہنچ سکنے کا خوف ہے۔
