وَلَقَدْ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And verily it has been revealed to thee as unto those before thee: ‘If thou attribute partners to God, thy work shall surely go vain and thou shalt certainly be of the losers.’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور یقیناً تیری طرف اور ان کی طرف بھی جو تجھ سے پہلے تھے وحی کی جا چکی ہے کہ اگر تو نے شرک کیا تو ضرور تیرا عمل ضائع ہو جائے گا اور ضرور تُو گھاٹا پانے والوں میں سے ہوگا۔
French
Et, en vérité, il t’a été révélé, comme à tes devanciers : « Si tu attribues des associés à Allāh, ton œuvre s’avérera sûrement vaine et tu seras certainement du nombre des perdants.

En verdad se te ha revelado al igual que a los que te precedieron: “Si atribuyes partícipes a Dios, tu trabajo será vano en verdad y te contarás ciertamente entre los perdedores”.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
حالانکہ خود خدا کی طرف سے تیری طرف اور تجھ سے پہلے (نبیوں) کی طرف وحی کی گئی ہے (اور ہر ایک نبی کو کہا گیا تھا کہ) اگر تو شرک کرے گا تو تیرے سارے اعمال ضائع ہو جائیں گے اور تو ان لوگوں میں سے ہو جائے گا جو گھاٹے میں پڑ جاتے ہیں۔

Commentary:
The verse is of general application, and stresses the futility and stupidity of polytheistic beliefs and idolatrous practices.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
(یہ بات تمہیں ان سے صاف کہہ دینی چاہیے کیونکہ) تمہاری طرف اور تم سے پہلے گزرے ہوئے تمام انبیاء کی طرف یہ وحی بھیجی جا چکی ہے کہ اگر تم نے شرک کیا تو تمہارا عمل ضائع ہو جائے گا اور تم خسارے میں رہو گے

And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with Allah, your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers."
