وَلَئِنۡ سَاَلۡتَہُمۡ مَّنۡ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ لَیَقُوۡلُنَّ اللّٰہُ ۚ قُلۡ اَفَرَءَیۡتُمۡ مَّا تَدۡعُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ اِنۡ اَرَادَنِیَ اللّٰہُ بِضُرٍّ ہَلۡ ہُنَّ کٰشِفٰتُ ضُرِّہٖۤ اَوۡ اَرَادَنِیۡ بِرَحۡمَۃٍ ہَلۡ ہُنَّ مُمۡسِکٰتُ رَحۡمَتِہٖ ۚ قُلۡ حَسۡبِیَ اللّٰہُ ۖ عَلَیۡہِ یَتَوَکَّلُ الۡمُتَوَکِّلُوۡنَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And if thou ask them, ‘Who created the heavens and the earth?’, they will surely say, ‘Allah.’ Say, ‘What think ye, if Allah intends to do me an injury, will those whom you call upon beside Allah be able to remove the injury inflicted by Him? Or if He wills to show me mercy, could they withhold His mercy?’ Say, ‘Allah is sufficient for me. In Him trust those who would trust.’
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور اگر تو ان سے پوچھے کہ آسمانوں اور زمین کو کس نے پیدا کیا تو وہ ضرور کہیں گے اللّٰہ نے۔ تُو ان سے کہہ دے کہ سوچو تو سہی کہ اگر اللہ مجھے کوئی نقصان پہنچانا چاہے تو کیا وہ جن کو تم اللہ کے سوا پکارتے ہو اس کے (پیدا کردہ) ضَرر کو دور کر سکتے ہیں؟ یا اگر وہ میرے متعلق رحمت کا ارادہ کرے تو کیا وہ اس کی رحمت کو روک سکتے ہیں؟ تُو کہہ دے کہ مجھے اللہ کافی ہے۔ اسی پر سب توکل کرنے والے توکل کرتے ہیں۔
French
Et si tu leur demandes : « Qui a créé les cieux et la terre ? » ils diront assurément : « Allāh ». Dis : « Savez-vous donc ce que vous invoquez en dehors d’Allāh ? Si Allāh me veut quelque mal, ceux que vous invoquez en dehors d’Allāh peuvent-ils m’enlever ce mal infligé par Lui ? Où s’Il veut me montrer quelque miséricorde, pourront-ils retenir Sa miséricorde ? » Dis : « Allāh me suffit. En Lui placent leur confiance ceux qui veulent faire confiance. »

Und wenn du sie fragst: "Wer schuf die Himmel und die Erde?", so werden sie sicherlich antworten: "Allah". Sprich: "Wisst ihr dann, was ihr außer Allah anruft? Wenn Allah für mich Unglück will, können sie dessen Schaden entfernen? Oder wenn Er Barmherzigkeit für mich will, können sie Seine Barmherzigkeit hemmen?" Sprich: "Allah ist meine Genüge. Auf Ihn vertrauen die Vertrauenden."

Y si les preguntas: “¿Quién creó los cielos y la tierra?” dirán ciertamente: “Al‑lah”. Diles: “¿Pensáis vosotros que si Al‑lah quisiera hacerme algún daño, aquellos a quienes invocáis fuera de Al‑lah podrán evitar el daño infligido por Él? O, si Él deseara mostrarme Su misericordia, ¿podrían ellos privarme de Su misericordia?”. Diles: “Al‑lah me basta. En Él confían quienes están dispuestos a confiar”.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور اگر تو ان سے پوچھے کہ آسمانوں اور زمین کو کس نے پیدا کیا ہے؟ تو وہ ضرور کہیں گے کہ اللہ نے۔ تو کہہ دے کیا تم کو معلوم ہے کہ تم اللہ کے سوا کس کو پکارتے ہو؟ اگر اللہ مجھے نقصان پہنچانا چاہے تو کیا وہ[1] (جھوٹے معبود) اس کے نقصان کو دور کر سکتے ہیں؟ یا اگر اللہ مجھے رحمت پہنچانا چاہے تو کیا وہ (معبود) اس کی رحمت کو روک سکتے ہیں؟ تو کہہ دے مجھے اللہ کافی ہے۔ سب (سچے) متوکل اسی پر توکل کرتے ہیں۔
قرآن مجید میں ھُنَّ کا لفظ ہے جو جمع مؤنث کے لئے آتا ہے۔ یہ لفظ اس لئے استعمال کیا گیا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا جو معبود تھے کفار ان کو عورتیں سمجھتے تھے۔
English - Short Commentary Translation

Though idolaters, out of superstition or traditional attachment, worship false gods, yet if the argument is driven home to them, they have to, and invariably do, confess that God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and in Him alone resides all real power.

[c]And if thou ask them, ‘Who created the heavens and the earth?’, they will surely say, ‘Allah.’ Say, ‘What think ye, if Allah intends to do me harm, will those whom you call upon beside Allah be able to remove His harm? Or if He wills to show me mercy, could they withhold His mercy?’ [d]Say, ‘Allah is sufficient for me. In Him trust those who would trust.’[3462]

Commentary:
The verse means to say that though idolaters, out of superstition or traditional attachment to false gods, worship such gods, yet if the argument is driven home to them, they have to, and invariably do, confess that God is the Creator of heavens and earth and in Him alone resides all real power.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
اِن لوگوں سے اگر تم پوچھو کہ زمین اور آسمانوں کو کس نے پیدا کیا ہے تو یہ خود کہیں گے کہ اللہ نے اِن سے کہو، جب حقیقت یہ ہے تو تمہارا کیا خیال ہے کہ اگر اللہ مجھے کوئی نقصان پہنچانا چاہے تو کیا تمہاری یہ دیویاں، جنہیں تم اللہ کو چھوڑ کر پکارتے ہو، مجھے اُس کے پہنچائے ہوئے نقصان سے بچا لیں گی؟ یا اللہ مجھ پر مہربانی کرنا چاہے تو کیا یہ اس کی رحمت کو روک سکیں گی؟ بس ان سے کہہ دو کہ میرے لیے اللہ ہی کافی ہے، بھروسہ کرنے والے اُسی پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں
English - Sahih
And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "Allah." Say, "Then have you considered what you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intended me harm, are they removers of His harm; or if He intended me mercy, are they withholders of His mercy?" Say, "Sufficient for me is Allah; upon Him [alone] rely the [wise] reliers."

او راگر آپ ان سے پوچھیں آسمانوں اور زمین کو کس نے پیدا کیا ہے تو وہ ضرور کہیں گے الله نے کہہ دو بھلا دیکھو تو سہی جنہیں تم الله کے سوا پکارتے ہو اگر الله مجھے تکلیف دینا چاہے تو کیا وہ اس کی تکلیف کو دور کر سکتے ہیں یا وہ مجھ پر مہربانی کرنا چاہے تو کیا وہ اس مہربانی کو روک سکتے ہیں کہہ دو مجھے الله کافی ہے توکل کرنے والے اسی پر توکل کیا کرتے ہیں

And if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth? Surely, they will say, "Allah." Say, "Then do you see what you invoke besides Allah? if Allah intended for me harm, are they removers (of) harm (from) Him; or if He intended for me mercy, are they withholders (of) His mercy?" Say, "Sufficient (is) Allah for me; upon Him put trust those who trust."

قرآن مجید میں ھُنَّ کا لفظ ہے جو جمع مؤنث کے لئے آتا ہے۔ یہ لفظ اس لئے استعمال کیا گیا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا جو معبود تھے کفار ان کو عورتیں سمجھتے تھے۔

If thou askest them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' they will say, 'God.' Say: 'What think you? That you call upon apart from God -- if God desires affliction for me, shall they remove His affliction? Or if He desires mercy for me, shall they withhold His mercy?' Say: 'God is enough for me; in Him all those put their trust who put their trust.'

If you ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will surely answer: “Allah.” Tell them: “What do you think, then, of the deities whom you call upon instead of Allah? If Allah should will that an affliction befall me, will those deities remove the harm inflicted by Him?
