كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ وَهَمَّتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍۭ بِرَسُولِهِمْ لِيَأْخُذُوهُ ۖ وَجَٰدَلُوا۟ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ لِيُدْحِضُوا۟ بِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
The people of Noah and other groups after them denied Our Signs before these people, and every nation strove to seize their Messenger, and disputed by means of false arguments that they might rebut the truth thereby. Then I seized them, and how terrible was My retribution!
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
ان سے پہلے نوح کی قوم نے بھی جھٹلایا تھا اور ان کے بعد مختلف گروہوں نے بھی اور ہر قوم نے اپنے رسول کے متعلق یہ پختہ ارادہ کیا تھا کہ وہ اسے پکڑلیں اور انہوں نے جھوٹ کے ذریعہ جھگڑا کیا تاکہ اس کے ذریعہ سے حق کو جھٹلادیں۔ تب میں نے انہیں پکڑ لیا۔ پس ( دیکھو) میری سزا کیسی تھی۔

Le peuple de Noé et d’autres groupes après eux ont rejeté Nos Signes avant ces gens-ci, et chaque peuple s’efforça d’arrêter son Messager, et discuta avec de faux arguments pour réfuter ainsi la vérité. Alors, Je les ai saisis, et combien terrible fut Mon châtiment !

Vor ihnen schon leugneten das Volk Noahs und Stämme nach ihnen (die Gesandten), und jedes Volk plante, seinen Gesandten zu ergreifen, und sie stritten mit Falschheit, auf dass sie die Wahrheit damit widerlegen möchten. Dann erfasste Ich sie, und wie war Meine Strafe!

El pueblo de Noé y otros grupos después de ellos, negaron Nuestros Signos antes de este pueblo y cada nación se sforzó por atrapar a su Mensajero, disputando por medio de falsos argumentos para rechazar con ellos la verdad. Entonces caí sobre ellos y ¡qué terrible fue Mi retribución!
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
ان سے پہلی قوموں نے بھی (اپنے رسولوں کا) انکار کیا تھا۔ نوح کی قوم نے بھی اور ان کے بعد اور مختلف قوموں نے (جنہوں نے اپنے نبیوں کے خلاف جتھے بنا لئے) اور ہر قوم نے اپنے رسول کے متعلق ارادہ کر لیا کہ اس کو گرفتار کر لیں اور جھوٹی دلیلیوں کے ساتھ بحث کرنی شروع کر دی تا کہ اپنی کج بحثی سے حق کو اس کے مقام سے ہٹا دیں پس میں نے ان کو پکڑ لیا۔ اب بتاؤ‘ میری سزا کیسی ہوئی؟

Commentary:
The verse gives an illustration of the great power and wealth which disbelievers, in the time of Noah and the Prophets who came after him, possessed. Just as disbelievers were seized with Divine punishment because they rejected and opposed their Prophets, so will the enemies of the Holy Prophet be punished.

اِن سے پہلے نوحؑ کی قوم بھی جھٹلا چکی ہے، اور اُس کے بعد بہت سے دوسرے جتھوں نے بھی یہ کام کیا ہے ہر قوم اپنے رسول پر جھپٹی تاکہ اُسے گرفتار کرے اُن سب نے باطل کے ہتھیاروں سے حق کو نیچا دکھانے کی کوشش کی مگر آخر کار میں نے ان کو پکڑ لیا، پھر دیکھ لو کہ میری سزا کیسی سخت تھی

The people of Noah denied before them and the [disbelieving] factions after them, and every nation intended [a plot] for their messenger to seize him, and they disputed by [using] falsehood to [attempt to] invalidate thereby the truth. So I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty.

ان سے پہلے قوم نوح اور ان کے بعد اور فرقے بھی جھٹلا چکے ہیں اور ہر ایک امت نے اپنے رسول کو پکڑنے کا ارادہ کیا اور غلط باتوں کے ساتھ بحث کرتے رہے تاکہ اس سے دین حق کو مٹا دیں پھر ہم نے انھیں پکڑ لیا پھر کیسی سزا ہوئی

Commentary:
The verse gives an illustration of the great power and wealth which disbelievers, in the time of Noah and the Prophets who came after him, possessed.
