[1] هَدَاهُ He directed him, or guided him, to the way; (K, * TA;) directed him aright; or caused him to take, or follow, a right way or course or direction. (K, TA.) See 8. ― 2-b2- هَدَى العَرُوسَ He sent [or conducted] the bride (MA, KL) to her husband, (MA,) or to the house of her husband: (KL;) i. q. زَفَّهَا, (K in art. زف,) and so ↓ أَهْدَاهَا. (Msb in that art.) ― 2-b3- يَهْدِى meaning يُؤَدِّى: see an ex. in a verse cited voce طَبَعٌ.

إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ إِذَا نَسِيتَ وَقُلْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَهْدِيَنِ رَبِّى لِأَقْرَبَ مِنْ هَٰذَا رَشَدًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Unless Allah should will. And remember thy Lord when thou forgettest, and say, ‘I hope my Lord will guide me to what is even nearer than this to the right path.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

سوائے اس کے کہ اللہ چاہے۔ اور جب تُو بھول جائے تو اپنے ربّ کو یاد کیا کر اور کہہ دے کہ بعید نہیں کہ میرا ربّ اس سے زیادہ درست بات کی طرف میری راہنمائی کردے۔

French

A moins qu’Allāh le veuille. Et souviens-toi de ton Seigneur quand tu oublies quelque chose, et dis : « J’espère que mon Seigneur me guidera vers ce qui est encore plus près du bon chemin que ceci. »

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

ہاں (صرف اس طرح کروں گا) جس طرح اللہ چاہے گا۔ اور جب (کسی وقت) تو بھول جائے تو (یاد آجانے پر) اپنے رب (کے وعدوں) کو یاد (کرلیا) کر اور کہہ دیا کر (کہ مجھے کامل) امید ہے کہ میرا رب (آخر مجھے کامیاب کردے گا اور) مجھے اس راستہ پر چلائے گا جو ہدایت پانے کے لحاظ سے اس (راستہ) سے (جو میرا تجویز کردہ ہے تکمیل کے) زیادہ قریب ہوگا۔

Commentary:

The verse purports to say to Muslims that in their hour of despondency and helplessness before the irresistible might of Christian nations, they should not for a moment entertain the idea that they can ever successfully fight them with material means. On the contrary, they should have firm faith in God’s promises that He would never let Islam down and would Himself create circumstances that would bring about the complete downfall and destruction of these nations.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(تم کچھ نہیں کر سکتے) اِلّا یہ کہ اللہ چاہے اگر بھولے سے ایسی بات زبان سے نکل جائے تو فوراً اپنے رب کو یاد کرو اور کہو "امید ہے کہ میرا رب اِس معاملے میں رشد سے قریب تر بات کی طرف میری رہنمائی فرما دے گا"

English - Sahih

Except [when adding], "If Allah wills." And remember your Lord when you forget [it] and say, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to what is nearer than this to right conduct."

مگر یہ کہ الله چاہے اور اپنے رب کو یاد کر لے جب بھول جائے اور کہہ دو امید ہے کہ میرا رب مجھے اس سے بھی بہتر راستہ دکھائے
