قَالُوۡا تَاللّٰہِ لَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمۡ مَّا جِئۡنَا لِنُفۡسِدَ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا کُنَّا سٰرِقِیۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They answered, ‘By Allah, you know well that we came not to act corruptly in the land, and we are not thieves.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

انہوں نے (جواباً) کہا اللہ کی قسم! تم یقیناً جان چکے ہو کہ ہم اس لئے نہیں آئے کہ زمین میں فساد کریں اور ہم ہرگز چور نہیں ہیں۔

French

Ils répondirent : « Par Allāh ; vous savez bien que nous ne sommes pas venus pour créer le désordre dans le pays, et nous ne sommes pas des voleurs. »

German

Sie erwiderten: "Bei Allah, ihr wisset doch, dass wir nicht gekommen sind, um Unheil im Land zu stiften, und wir sind keine Diebe."

Chinese

他们 (回答) 说: “我们凭安拉为证, 你们知道我们不是来 (此国) 制造混乱的, 我们不是窃贼。”

Italian

Essi replicarono: «Per Allah, sapete bene che non siamo venuti per agire in maniera scorretta in questo paese, e non siamo ladri.»

Spanish

Ellos contestaron: “Por Al-lah, sabéis muy bien que no hemos venido para actuar con malicia en el país, ni somos ladrones”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

انہوں نے کہا (کہ) اللہ کی قسم! تم جانتے ہو کہ ہم (یہاں) اس لئے نہیں آئے کہ ملک میں فساد کریں اور نہ (ہی) ہم چور ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

They answered, ‘By Allah, you know well that we came not to make mischief in the land, and we are not thieves.’

English - Five Volume Translation

They answered, ‘By Allah, you know well that we came not to act corruptly in the land, and we are not thieves.’

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

ان بھائیوں نے کہا "خدا کی قسم، تو لوگ خوب جانتے ہو کہ ہم اس ملک میں فساد کرنے نہیں آئے ہیں اور ہم چوریاں کرنے والے لوگ نہیں ہیں"

English - Sahih

They said, "By Allah, you have certainly known that we did not come to cause corruption in the land, and we have not been thieves."

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

انہوں نے کہا الله کی قسم تمہیں معلوم ہے ہم اس ملک میں شرارت کرنے کے لیے نہیں آئے اور نہ ہم کبھی چور تھے

They said, "By Allah certainly you know, not we came that we cause corruption in the land, and not we are thieves."

'By God,' they said, 'you know well that we came not to work corruption in the land. We are not robbers.'

They said: "By Allah, you certainly know that we did not come to act corruptly in this land, nor are we those who steal."

They said: "We swear by God. You know we did not come to commit any crime in the land, nor are we thieves."

(The brothers) said: "By Allah! well ye know that we came not to make mischief in the land, and we are no thieves!"
