لَّوۡلَاۤ اِذۡ سَمِعۡتُمُوۡہُ ظَنَّ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ وَالۡمُؤۡمِنٰتُ بِاَنۡفُسِہِمۡ خَیۡرًا وَّقَالُوۡا ہٰذَاۤ اِفۡکٌ مُّبِیۡنٌ

Why did not the believing men and believing women, when you heard of it, think well of their own people, and say, ‘This is a manifest lie?’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

ایسا کیوں نہ ہوا کہ جب تم نے اُسے سنا تو مومن مرد اور مومن عورتیں اپنوں کے متعلق حُسنِ ظن کرتے اور کہتے کہ یہ کھلا کھلا بہتان ہے۔

Pourquoi les croyants et les croyantes, quand vous avez entendu parler de l’affaire, n’avez-vous pas pensé du bien de vos propres gens, et dit : « Ceci est un mensonge manifeste. » ?

Warum dachten die gläubigen Männer und Frauen, als ihr es hörtet, nicht Gutes von ihren eigenen Leuten und sprachen: "Das ist eine offenkundige Lüge."?

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

جب تم نے یہ بات سنی تھی تو کیوں نہ مومن مردوں اور مومن عورتوں نے اپنی قوم کے متعلق نیک گمان کیا اور یہ کہہ دیا کہ یہ تو ایک بہت بڑا جھوٹ ہے۔

جس وقت تم لوگوں نے اسے سنا تھا اُسی وقت کیوں نہ مومن مردوں اور مومن عورتوں نے اپنے آپ سے نیک گمان کیا اور کیوں نہ کہہ دیا کہ یہ صریح بہتان ہے؟
