۞ اَلَمۡ اَعۡہَدۡ اِلَیۡکُمۡ یٰبَنِیۡۤ اٰدَمَ اَنۡ لَّا تَعۡبُدُوا الشَّیۡطٰنَ ۖ اِنَّہٗ لَکُمۡ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِیۡنٌ

‘Did I not enjoin on you, O ye sons of Adam, that you worship not Satan — for he is to you an open enemy —

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اے بنی آدم! کیا میں نے تمہیں تاکیدی ہدایت نہیں کی تھی کہ تم شیطان کی عبادت نہ کرو۔ یقیناً وہ تمہارا کھلا کھلا دشمن ہے۔

Ne vous avais-Je pas enjoint, ô enfants d'Adam, de ne pas adorer Satan – car il est pour vous un ennemi déclaré –

Habe Ich euch nicht geboten, ihr Kinder Adams, dass ihr nicht Satan dienet – denn er ist euch ein offenkundiger Feind –,

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اے بنی آدم! کیا میں نے تم پر یہ ذمہ واری نہیں لگائی تھی کہ شیطان کی عبادت نہ کیا کرو‘ وہ تمہارا کھلا کھلا دشمن ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Did I not enjoin on you, O ye sons of Adam, that you worship not Satan—for he is to you an [a]open enemy—

6:143.

‘Did I not enjoin on you, O ye sons of Adam, that [d]you worship not Satan—for he is to you an open enemy—[3253]

Commentary:

The words of the verse seem to have been spoken more in sorrow than in anger. They are intended to bring home to sinners and guilty people the sense of their guilt by reminding them that they worked out their ruin with their own hands by deliberately and persistently ignoring and defying God’s warning that they should be on their guard against Satan who was their open enemy (7:23) and who had brought about the expulsion of their forebears from Paradise (7:28).

آدمؑ کے بچو، کیا میں نے تم کو ہدایت نہ کی تھی کہ شیطان کی بندگی نہ کرو، وہ تمہارا کھلا دشمن ہے

Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy -

اے آدم کی اولاد! کیا میں نے تمہیں تاکید نہ کر دی تھی کہ شیطان کی عبادت نہ کرنا کیونکہ وہ تمہارا صریح دشمن ہے
