قُلْ مَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Say, ‘I ask not of you any reward for it, nor am I of those who are given to affectation.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

تو کہہ دے کہ میں تم سے اس (بات) پر کوئی اجر نہیں مانگتا اور نہ ہی میں تکلف کرنے والوں میں سے ہوں۔

French

Dis : « Je ne vous en demande aucune récompense, et je ne suis pas non plus de ceux qui s’adonnent à l’affectation.

Sprich: "Ich verlange von euch keinen Lohn dafür, noch bin ich der Heuchler einer.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

تو کہہ دے کہ میں اس (تبلیغ) پر تم سے کوئی اجر نہیں مانگتا اور نہ میں تکلف سے بات کرنے کا عادی ہوں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Say, ‘I ask not of you any reward for it, nor am I of those who are given to affectation.

English - Five Volume Translation

Say, [a]‘I ask not of you any reward for it, nor am I of those who are given to affectation.[3437]

25:58; 42:24.

Commentary:

This verse makes it clear that بشر (man) referred to in v. 72 above is the Holy Prophet, since in the present verse he is represented as saying that he seeks no recompense or reward for preaching the message of truth and for calling men to God. Exactly the same expression has been mentioned as having been used by the Holy Prophet about himself at several places in the Quran (25:58; 34:48; etc.).

(اے نبیؐ) اِن سے کہہ دو کہ میں اس تبلیغ پر تم سے کوئی اجر نہیں مانگتا، اور نہ میں بناوٹی لوگوں میں سے ہوں
