وَیَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ تَرَی الَّذِیۡنَ کَذَبُوۡا عَلَی اللّٰہِ وُجُوۡہُہُمۡ مُّسۡوَدَّۃٌ ۚ اَلَیۡسَ فِیۡ جَہَنَّمَ مَثۡوًی لِّلۡمُتَکَبِّرِیۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And on the Day of Resurrection, thou wilt see those who lied against Allah with their faces blackened. Is there not in Hell an abode for the proud?

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور قیامت کے دن تُو ان لوگوں کو دیکھے گا جنہوں نے اللہ پر جھوٹ بولا کہ ان کے چہرے سیاہ ہوں گے۔ کیا جہنم میں تکبر کرنے والوں کے لئے ٹھکانہ نہیں؟

French

Et le Jour de la Résurrection, tu verras ceux qui mentirent contre Allāh avec le visage assombri. N’y a-t-il pas en Enfer une demeure pour les orgueilleux ?

German

Am Tage der Auferstehung wirst du diejenigen, die über Allah logen, mit geschwärzten Gesichtern sehen. Ist nicht in der Hölle ein Aufenthalt für die Hoffärtigen?

在复生日, 你将看见那些以安拉之名捏造谎言的人[a]面色变黑, 难道火狱里没有骄傲自大者的住处?

E nel Giorno della risurrezione vedrai coloro che hanno mentito contro Allah con i volti anneriti. Non c'è forse un'abitazione nell'Inferno per gli orgogliosi?

Y en el Día de la Resurrección, verás a quienes mintieron contra Al‑lah, con sus rostros ennegrecidos. ¿No hay acaso en el Infierno una morada para los orgullosos?

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور قیامت کے دن تو ان لوگوں کو دیکھے گا جنہوں نے اللہ پر جھوٹ باندھا تھا۔ کہ اُن کے منہ کالے ہوں گے کیا متکبروں کی جگہ جہنم میں نہیں ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And on the Day of Resurrection, thou wilt see those who lied against Allah that their [a]faces shall be overcast with gloom. Is there not in Hell an abode for the proud?

3:107; 10:28.

English - Five Volume Translation

And on the Day of Resurrection, thou wilt see those who lied against Allah with their [a]faces blackened. Is there not in Hell an abode for the proud?[3480]

Commentary:

Whiteness of face is symbolic of happiness while blackness is a token of sorrow and grief (16:59; 80:39, 40). When a person does a good deed for which he is praised the Arabs say of him ابیض وجه فلان i.e. the face of such a one has become white. And when he does a deed for which he is reproached and rebuked, it is said of him اسود وجھه i.e. his face has become black. The verse means to say that the day of reckoning will be a day of regrets and sorrow for the disbelievers.

آج جن لوگوں نے خدا پر جھوٹ باندھے ہیں قیامت کے روز تم دیکھو گے کہ ان کے منہ کالے ہوں گے کیا جہنم میں متکبروں کے لیے کافی جگہ نہیں ہے؟

English - Sahih

And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah [with] their faces blackened. Is there not in Hell a residence for the arrogant?

اور قیامت کے دن آپ ان لوگوں کو دیکھیں گے جو الله پر جھوٹے الزام لگاتے ہیں کہ ان کے منہ سیاہ ہوں گے کیا دوزخ میں تکبر کرنے والوں کا ٹھکانہ نہیں ہے

And (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah, their faces (will be) blackened. Is (there) not in Hell an abode for the arrogant?
