40:48

وَاِذۡ یَتَحَآجُّوۡنَ فِی النَّارِ فَیَقُوۡلُ الضُّعَفٰٓؤُا لِلَّذِیۡنَ اسۡتَکۡبَرُوۡۤا اِنَّا کُنَّا لَکُمۡ تَبَعًا فَہَلۡ اَنۡتُمۡ مُّغۡنُوۡنَ عَنَّا نَصِیۡبًا مِّنَ النَّارِ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And when they will dispute with one another in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were proud, ‘Verily, we were your followers; will you then relieve us of a portion of the Fire?’

اور جب وہ آگ میں پڑے جھگڑ رہے ہوں گے تو کمزور لوگ تکبر کرنے والوں سے کہیں گے ہم یقیناً تمہارے پیروکار تھے پس کیا تم آگ کا کوئی حصہ ہم سے ٹال سکتے ہو؟

French

Et lorsque dans le Feu ils se disputeront, les faibles diront à ceux qui étaient orgueilleux : « En vérité, nous étions vos disciples ; nous soulagerez-vous donc d’une partie du Feu ? »

Wenn sie miteinander im Feuer streiten, werden die Schwachen zu den Hochmütigen sprechen: "Wir waren ja eure Anhänger: Wollt ihr uns da nicht einen Teil des Feuers abnehmen?"

[a]他们在火狱中互相辩论时, 弱者们将向骄傲自大的人说: “我们原是追随你们的, [b]现在你们将能否为我们解除一部分火 (的刑罚)?”

E quando discuteranno tra loro nel fuoco, il debole dirà a coloro che erano stati arroganti: «A dire il vero, noi eravamo vostri seguaci; vorrete dunque sollevarci di parte dei tormenti del fuoco?»

Spanish

Y cuando disputen mutuamente en el Fuego, los débiles dirán a los que fueron orgullosos: “En verdad fuimos vuestros seguidores; ¿no podéis, pues, aliviarnos de una parte del Fuego?”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور (اس وقت کو بھی یاد کرو) جب کہ (فرعون کے ساتھی) آگ میں بحث کر رہے ہوں گے۔ اور ان میں سے کمزور بڑے لوگوں سے کہہ رہے ہوں گے کہ ہم تمہارے متبع تھے پس کیا آج تم ہم کو آگ کے عذاب کے کسی حصہ سے بچا سکتے ہو؟

English - Short Commentary Translation

[a]And when they will dispute with one another in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were proud, ‘Verily, we were your followers; [b]will you then relieve us of a portion of the torment of the Fire?’

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

پھر ذرا خیال کرو اُس وقت کا جب یہ لوگ دوزخ میں ایک دوسرے سے جھگڑ رہے ہوں گے دنیا میں جو لوگ کمزور تھے وہ بڑے بننے والوں سے کہیں گے کہ "ہم تمہارے تابع تھے، اب کیا یہاں تم نار جہنم کی تکلیف کے کچھ حصے سے ہم کو بچا لو گے؟"

English - Sahih

And [mention] when they will argue within the Fire, and the weak will say to those who had been arrogant, "Indeed, we were [only] your followers, so will you relieve us of a share of the Fire?"

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

اور جب دوزخی آپس میں جھگڑیں گےپھر کمزور سرکشوں سے کہیں گے کہ ہم تمہارے پیرو تھے پھر کیا تم ہم سے کچھ بھی آگ دور کر سکتے ہو

English - Talal Itani

And when they will dispute in the Fire, then will say the weak to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we [we] were for you followers, so can you avert from us a portion of the Fire?"

And when they argue one with the other in the Fire, and the weak say unto those who waxed proud, 'Why, we were your followers; will you avail us now against any part of the Fire?'

English - Maududi

Just imagine when they will remonstrate with one another in Hell. The weak ones will say to those who waxed proud: “We were your followers. Will you, then, lighten for us a part of our suffering of the Fire?”

As they will noisily argue in the Fire, the weaker ones will say to the arrogant: "We were your followers, so will you take over some of our share of the fire?"

Behold, they will dispute with each other in the Fire! The weak ones (who followed) will say to those who had been arrogant, "We but followed you: Can ye then take (on yourselves) from us some share of the Fire?
