42:7

وَالَّذِیۡنَ اتَّخَذُوۡا مِنۡ دُوۡنِہٖۤ اَوۡلِیَآءَ اللّٰہُ حَفِیۡظٌ عَلَیۡہِمۡ وَمَاۤ اَنۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ بِوَکِیۡلٍ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And as for those who take for themselves protectors beside Him, Allah watches over them; and thou art not a guardian over them.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور اُن پر بھی اللہ ہی نگہبان ہے جنہوں نے اس کے سوا دوست بنا رکھے ہیں جبکہ تُو اُن پر داروغہ نہیں۔

French

Et quant à ceux qui se prennent des protecteurs en dehors de Lui, Allāh les surveille : et tu n’es pas leur gardien.

German

Und jene, die sich Beschützer nehmen statt Ihn, Allah gibt auf sie acht; und du bist nicht Hüter über sie.

Chinese

关于把安拉以外的当作自己保护者的人, 安拉是监视[1198]他们的, [a]你不是他们的监护者。

安拉在注视人们亵渎安拉的信仰, 并正在为此作记录, 这些人如不追悔, 就要加以惩罚。

Italian

E quanto a coloro che adottano altri protettori all'infuori di Lui, Allah vigila su di essi; tu non sei il loro custode.

Spanish

En cuanto a quienes toman para ellos protectores aparte de Él, Al-lah los vigila; y tú no eres guardián de ellos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

وہ لوگ جو اللہ کے سوا کسی کو اپنا پناہ دینے والا بناتے ہیں اللہ نے ان کے خلاف پڑنے والے سب اعمال کو محفوظ کر چھوڑا ہے اور تو ان پر نگران نہیں (خدا ہی نگران ہے) ۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And as for those who take for themselves protectors beside Him—Allah watches[2644] over them, [a]and thou art not a guardian over them.

6:108; 88:23.

God is watching over the blasphemous beliefs of men and is keeping an account of them and will punish them if they did not repent.

English - Five Volume Translation

And as for those who take for themselves protectors beside Him–Allah watches over them; [b]and thou art not a guardian over them.[3606]

Commentary:

The particle علی (over) being generally used in the sense of "against," the meaning of the expression الله حفیظ علیم would be that God is watching over the blasphemous beliefs of men and is keeping an account of them and will punish them if they did not repent.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

جن لوگوں نے اُس کو چھوڑ کر اپنے کچھ دوسرے سرپرست بنا رکھے ہیں، اللہ ہی اُن پر نگراں ہے، تم ان کے حوالہ دار نہیں ہو

English - Sahih

And those who take as allies other than Him - Allah is [yet] Guardian over them; and you, [O Muhammad], are not over them a manager.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

اور وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اس کے سوا اور کارساز بنا رکھے ہیں الله ان کا حال دیکھ رہا ہے اور آپ ان کے ذمہ دار نہیں ہیں

English - Talal Itani

And those who take besides protectors, Allah (is) a Guardian over them, and not you (are) over them a manager.

And those who have taken to them protectors apart from Him -- God is Warden over them; thou art not a guardian over them.

Those who have taken others than Him as their protectors beside Him, it is Allah Who oversees them; you are no guardian over them.

Those who have taken protectors other than Him, are watched over by God. It is not for you to be their guardian.
