43:18

وَاِذَا بُشِّرَ اَحَدُہُمۡ بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحۡمٰنِ مَثَلًا ظَلَّ وَجۡہُہٗ مُسۡوَدًّا وَّہُوَ کَظِیۡمٌ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Yet when tidings are given to one of them of that the like of which he ascribes to the Gracious God, his face becomes darkened and he is choked with grief.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جب ان میں سے کسی کو اس کی خوشخبری دی جاتی ہے جسے وہ رحمان کے تعلق میں ایک اعلیٰ مثال کے طور پر پیش کرتا ہے تو اس کا منہ کالا ہو جاتا ہے جبکہ وہ سخت غم کو ضبط کرنے کی کوشش کر رہا ہوتا ہے۔

French

Cependant, lorsqu’on annonce à l’un d’entre eux la nouvelle de ce qu’il attribue au Dieu Gracieux, son visage s’assombrit, et il suffoque de chagrin.

German

Und doch, wenn ihrer einem Kunde gegeben wird von dem*, was er dem Gnadenreichen zuschreibt, so wird sein Gesicht schwarz und er erstickt vor Gram.

Eppure, quando viene annunciato a uno di loro ciò di cui egli attribuisce il simile al Dio Clemente, il suo volto si rabbuia ed egli quasi è soffocato dal dolore.

No obstante, cuando a uno de ellos se le comunica que ha recibido aquello cuya semejanza atribuye al Dios Clemente, su rostro se ensombrece y se sofoca con una angustia interior.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جب ان میں سے کسی کو اس چیز کی خبر دی جاتی ہے جس کو وہ رحمن (خدا) کی طرف منسوب کرتا ہے تو اس کا منہ کالا ہو جاتا ہے اور وہ غصہ سے بھر جاتا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور حال یہ ہے کہ جس اولاد کو یہ لوگ اُس خدائے رحمان کی طرف منسوب کرتے ہیں اُس کی ولادت کا مژدہ جب خود اِن میں سے کسی کو دیا جاتا ہے تو اُس کے منہ پر سیاہی چھا جاتی ہے اور وہ غم سے بھر جاتا ہے

English - Sahih

And when one of them is given good tidings of that which he attributes to the Most Merciful in comparison, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief.

اور جب ان میں سے کسی کو اس چیز کی خوشخبری دی جائے جسے رحمان کے لیے ٹھیراتا ہے تو اس کا منہ سیاہ ہو جاتا ہے اور و ہ دل میں کڑھتا رہتا ہے

And when is given good news, (to) one of them, of what he sets up for the Most Gracious (as) a likeness, becomes his face dark and he (is) filled with grief.

English - Arberry

And when any of them is given the good tidings of that he has likened to the All-merciful, his face is darkened, and he chokes inwardly.

(They believe so although when) any of them is given tidings of the birth of a female child the like of which he assigns to the Merciful One, his countenance darkens and he is choked with grief.
