وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا قُلْتُم مَّا نَدْرِى مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنًّا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُسْتَيْقِنِينَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
“And when it was said, ‘The promise of Allah is certainly true, and as to the Hour, there is no doubt about its coming,’ you said, ‘We know not what the Hour is; we think it to be nothing but a conjecture, and we are not convinced.’ ”

اور جب کہا جاتا ہے یقیناً اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے اور ساعت میں کوئی شک نہیں تو تم کہتے ہو کہ ہم نہیں جانتے کہ ساعت کیا چیز ہے۔ ہم ایک ظن سے بڑھ کر گمان نہیں کرتے اور ہم ہرگز یقین لانے والے نہیں۔
French
Et lorsqu’il vous a été dit : « La promesse d’Allāh est certainement vraie, et quant à l’Heure, il n’y a pas de doute concernant sa venue, » vous avez dit : « Nous ne savons pas ce qu’est l’Heure ; nous pensons que ce n’est qu’une conjecture, et nous n’ en sommes pas convaincus ! »

Und als gesprochen wurde: "Die Verheißung Allahs ist wahr, und über die "Stunde" ist kein Zweifel", da spracht ihr: "Wir wissen nicht, was die "Stunde" ist; wir halten (sie) für einen Wahn, und wir sind nicht überzeugt."»

“Y cuando se dijo: “La promesa de Al-lah es ciertamente verdadera, y en cuanto a la Hora, no hay duda alguna sobre su llegada”, respondisteis: “No sabemos qué es la Hora; pensamos que no es más que una conjetura, y no estamos convencidos”.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور جب ان سے یہ کہا جاتا ہے کہ اللہ کا وعدہ تو سچا ہے اور (دنیا کی) آخری تباہی ضرور آنے والی ہے۔ اس میں کوئی شک نہیں تو اس پر[1] وہ کہہ دیتے ہیں کہ ہم نہیں جانتے قیامت کیا چیز ہے؟ ہمیں تو اس کے متعلق صرف گمان سا ہے اور ہمیں اس پر یقین کوئی نہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation
“And when it was said to you, ‘The promise of Allah is certainly true, and [d]as to the Hour, there is no doubt about its coming,’ you said, ‘We know not what the Hour is; we think it to be nothing but a conjecture, and we have no certainty concerning it.”
18:22; 20:16; 22:8.

And when it was said to you, ‘The promise of Allah is certainly true, and [a]as to the Hour, there is no doubt about its coming,’ you said, ‘We know not what the Hour is; we think it to be nothing but a conjecture, and we have no certainty concerning it.’”[3753]

Commentary:
This verse further makes it clear that the "Hour" mentioned in this and the preceding verse refers also to the hour of the complete defeat and discomfiture of disbelievers in this life.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
اور جب کہا جاتا تھا کہ اللہ کا وعدہ برحق ہے اور قیامت کے آنے میں کوئی شک نہیں، تو تم کہتے تھے کہ ہم نہیں جانتے قیامت کیا ہوتی ہے، ہم تو بس ایک گمان سا رکھتے ہیں، یقین ہم کو نہیں ہے"
English - Sahih
And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth and the Hour [is coming] - no doubt about it,' you said, 'We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced.' "

اور جب کہا جاتا تھا کہ الله کا وعدہ سچا ہے اور قیامت میں کوئی شک نہیں تو تم کہتے تھے ہم نہیں جانتے قیامت کیا چیز ہے ہم تو اس کو محض خیالی بات جانتے ہیں اور ہمیں یقین نہیں

And when it was said, "Indeed (the) Promise (of) Allah (is) true and the Hour - (there is) no doubt about it, you said, "Not we know what the Hour (is). Not we think except an assumption, and not we (are) convinced."
