اُحِلَّ لَکُمۡ صَیۡدُ الۡبَحۡرِ وَطَعَامُہٗ مَتٰعًا لَّکُمۡ وَلِلسَّیَّارَۃِ ۖ وَحُرِّمَ عَلَیۡکُمۡ صَیۡدُ الۡبَرِّ مَا دُمۡتُمۡ حُرُمًا ۗ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ الَّذِیۡۤ اِلَیۡہِ تُحۡشَرُوۡنَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
The game of the sea and the eating thereof have been made lawful for you as a provision for you and the travellers; but forbidden to you is the game of the land as long as you are in a state of pilgrimage. And fear Allah to Whom you shall be gathered.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
تمہارے لئے سمندری شکار اور اس کا کھانا حلال کر دیا گیا ہے۔ یہ تمہارے اور مسافروں کے فائدہ کے لئے ہے۔ اور تم پر خشکی کا شکار اس وقت تک حرام کر دیا گیا ہے جب تک تم اِحرام باندھے ہوئے ہو۔ اور اللہ کا تقویٰ اختیار کرو جس کی طرف تم اکٹھے کئے جاؤ گے۔
French
Il vous est permis de chasser le gibier de la mer et d’en manger. C’est une provision pour vous et pour ceux qui voyagent. Mais tant que vous êtes en état de Pèlerinage, la chasse à terre vous est interdite. Et craignez Allāh auprès de Qui vous serez rassemblés.

Das Getier des Meeres und sein Genuss sind euch erlaubt als eine Versorgung für euch und für die Reisenden; doch verwehrt ist euch das Wild des Landes, solange ihr Pilger seid. Und fürchtet Allah, zu Dem ihr versammelt werdet.

为了替你们和旅行的人供应食物, 海上打猎并食其 (猎物) 对你们是合法的; 但在朝觐状态中, 你们[b]被禁止在陆地打猎。你们要敬畏安拉, 你们都将被集合到他那里去。

È lecita la pesca ed è lecito nutrirvi dello stesso, come provvista per voi e per chi è in viaggio; ma vi è proibito cacciare la selvaggina quando siete in pellegrinaggio. E temete Allah, a Cui tutti tornerete.
Spanish
Se os permite la pesca y comer de ella como provisión para vosotros y los viajeros; pero se os prohíbe la caza en tierra mientras estéis en estado de peregrinación. Y temed a Al-lah, pues junto a El seréis reunidos.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
بحری شکار کرنا اور اس کا کھانا تمہارے اور مسافروں کے فائدہ کے لئے جائز کیا گیا ہے‘ لیکن[1] جب تک تم احرام کی حالت میں ہو (اس وقت تک) خشکی کا شکار تم پر حرام کیا گیا ہے اور تم اللہ کا تقویٰ اختیار کرو جس کے حضور میں تمہیں اکٹھا کرکے لے جایا جائے گا۔
واؤ کے معنے عربی زبان میں ’’لیکن‘‘ کے بھی ہوتے ہیں۔ (مُغْنی اللَّبِیب)
English - Short Commentary Translation
The game of the sea[793] and the eating thereof is made lawful for you as a provision for you and the travellers; but [b]forbidden to you is the game of the land as long as you are in a state of Pilgrimage. And fear Allah to Whom you shall be gathered.

The game of the sea and the eating thereof have been made lawful for you as a provision for you and the travellers; but [a]forbidden to you is the game of the land as long as you are in a state of pilgrimage. And fear Allah to Whom you shall be gathered.[724]

Commentary:
The word بحر (sea) here includes rivers, streams, lakes, ponds, etc. See 7:139.
As during the time of Pilgrimage, hunting on land is likely to prove inconvenient and even dangerous to pilgrims visiting the Ka‘bah, whereas the catching of sea-game does not interfere with traffic, so the former has been prohibited and the latter allowed.

تمہارے لیے سمندر کا شکار اور اس کا کھانا حلال کر دیا گیا، جہاں تم ٹھیرو وہاں بھی اُسے کھا سکتے ہو اور قافلے کے لیے زاد راہ بھی بناسکتے ہو البتہ خشکی کا شکار جب تک احرام کی حالت میں ہو، تم پر حرام کیا گیا ہے پس بچو اُس خدا کی نافرمانی سے جس کی پیشی میں تم سب کو گھیر کر حاضر کیا جائے گا
English - Sahih
Lawful to you is game from the sea and its food as provision for you and the travelers, but forbidden to you is game from the land as long as you are in the state of ihram. And fear Allah to whom you will be gathered.

تمہارے لیے دریا کا شکار کرنا اوراس کا کھانا حلال کیا گیا ہے تمہارے واسطے اور مسافروں کے لیے فائدہ ہے اور تم پر جنگل کا شکار کرناحرام کیا گیا ہے جب تک کہ تم احرام میں ہو اور اس الله سے ڈرو جس کی طرف جمع کیے جاؤ گے

Is made lawful for you game (of) the sea and its food (as) provision for you and for the travelers, and is made unlawful on you game (of) the land as long as you (are in) Ihram, And be conscious (of) Allah the One to Him you will be gathered.

Permitted to you is the game of the sea and the food of it, as a provision for you and for the journeyers; but forbidden to you is the game of the land, so long as you remain in pilgrim sanctity; and fear God, unto whom you shall be mustered.
English - Maududi
The game of the water and eating thereof are permitted to you as a provision for you (who are settled) and for those on a journey; but to hunt on land while you are in the state of Pilgrim sanctity is forbidden for you. Beware, then, of disobeying Allah to Whom you shall all be mustered.

Lawful is all game of the water for you, and eating of it as food, so that you and the travellers may benefit by it. But unlawful is game of the jungle when you are on pilgrimage. Fear God before whom you have to gather in the end.
