وَاَصۡحٰبُ الۡاَیۡکَۃِ وَقَوۡمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ کُلٌّ کَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِیۡدِ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And the Dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba‘. All of them rejected the Messengers with the result that My threatened punishment befell them.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور گھنے درختوں میں بسنے والوں نے اور تُبّع کی قوم نے۔ سب نے رسولوں کو جھٹلا دیا۔ پس میرا اِنذار سچا ثابت ہوگیا۔

French

Et les habitants de la Forêt, et le peuple de Tubba’. Tous rejetèrent les Messagers et par conséquent Ma menace s’avéra vraie.

German

und die Waldbewohner* und das Volk von Tubba**. Alle diese verwarfen die Gesandten. Darum ward Meine Drohung wahr.

[d]森林的居民和图巴的族人, 他们都拒绝了 (他们的) 使者, 结果我所警告的 (惩罚) 都实现了。

Los Habitantes del Bosque y el pueblo de Tubba. Todos ellos rechazaron a los Mensajeros con el resultado de que Mi castigo previamente advertido cayó sobre ellos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جنگل [2]کے رہنے والوں نے اور قوم تُبَّع (یعنی یمن کے لوگوں نے) ہمارے رسولوں کو جھٹلا دیا تھا۔ آخر میرے عذاب کا وعدہ پورا ہو کر رہا۔

لفظی معنے ’’َبَن والے‘‘ کے ہیں۔ لیکن مراد یمن سے فلسطین جاتے ہوئے وہ جنگل ہے جو مَدْیَن کے پاس واقعہ ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[c]And the Dwellers of the Wood, and the People of Tubba‘. All of them rejected the Messengers with the result that My threatened punishment befell them.

[c]And the Dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba‘. [d]All of them rejected the Messengers with the result that My threatened punishment befell them.[3867]

Commentary:

For اصحاب الأیکة (Dwellers of the Wood) see 15:79 and for the People of Tubba‘ 44:38. The verse purports to say that the above-mentioned peoples were warned by their respective Prophets that if they rejected them, they would be punished in this world and would also have to account for their sins in the next. The first warning was literally fulfilled and, therefore, the second one is also bound to be fulfilled.

اور ایکہ والے، اور تبع کی قوم کے لوگ بھی جھٹلا چکے ہیں ہر ایک نے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا، اور آخر کار میری وعید اُن پر چسپاں ہو گئی

English - Sahih

And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled.

اور بن والو ں اور قوم تبعّ نے ہر ایک نےرسولوں کو جھٹلایا تو ہمارا وعدہ عذاب ثابت ہوا

And (the) companions (of) the wood and (the) people (of) Tubba. All denied the Messengers, so was fulfilled My Threat.

اردہ تفصیرِ صغیر نوٹس ^*

لفظی معنے ’’َبَن والے‘‘ کے ہیں۔ لیکن مراد یمن سے فلسطین جاتے ہوئے وہ جنگل ہے جو مَدْیَن کے پاس واقعہ ہے۔

English - Arberry

the men of the Thicket, the people of Tubba'. Every one cried lies to the Messengers, and My threat came true.

English - Maududi

and the people of Aykah, and the people of Tubba'. They all gave the lie to the Messengers. Thereafter My threat of chastisement against them was fulfilled.

And the dwellers of the Wood and people of Tubba'. Each of them denied the apostles. So My threat became a reality.
