بَلۡ عَجِبُوۡۤا اَنۡ جَآءَہُمۡ مُّنۡذِرٌ مِّنۡہُمۡ فَقَالَ الۡکٰفِرُوۡنَ ہٰذَا شَیۡءٌ عَجِیۡبٌ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, ‘This is a strange thing!

حقیقت یہ ہے کہ انہوں نے تعجب کیا کہ خود انہی میں سے ایک ڈرانے والا ان کے پاس آیا ہے۔ پس کافر کہتے ہیں کہ یہ عجیب بات ہے۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

مگر یہ لوگ تعجب کرتے ہیں کہ ان کے پاس انہی میں سے ڈرانے (اور ہوشیار کرنے) والا ایک شخص آیا ہے اور کافر کہتے ہیں‘ یہ عجیب سی چیز لگتی ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, ‘This is a strange thing.’

English - Five Volume Translation

But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves.[a] And the disbelievers say, ‘This is a strange thing.’[3857]

7:64.

Commentary:

The verse purports to say that in spite of the fact that from time immemorial God has been sending His Messengers and Prophets to guide men to the path of truth and righteousness, the people, whenever there appeared a Prophet, wondered, and considered it highly improbable that God should commission as His Messenger an ordinary man from among themselves. This attitude of disbelievers towards Divine Messengers has been referred to at several other places also in the Quran (7:64; 10:3; 38:5).

بلکہ اِن لوگوں کو تعجب اس بات پر ہوا کہ ایک خبردار کرنے والا خود اِنہی میں سے اِن کے پاس آگیا پھر منکرین کہنے لگے "یہ تو عجیب بات ہے
