62:6
مَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ حُمِّلُوا۟ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَحْمِلُوهَا كَمَثَلِ ٱلْحِمَارِ يَحْمِلُ أَسْفَارًۢا ۚ بِئْسَ مَثَلُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
The likeness of those who were made to bear the law of Torah, but would not bear it, is as the likeness of an ass carrying a load of books. Evil is the likeness of the people who reject the Signs of Allah. And Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
ان لوگوں کی مثال جن پر تورات کی ذمہ داری ڈالی گئی پھر اُسے (جیسا کہ حق تھا) انہوں نے اُٹھائے نہ رکھا، گدھے کی سی ہے جو کتابوں کا بوجھ اٹھاتا ہے۔ کیا ہی بُری ہے اُن لوگوں کی مثال جنہوں نے اللہ کی آیات کو جھٹلایا اور اللہ ظالم قوم کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا۔
French
L’exemple de ceux qui étaient chargés de la loi de la Torah mais ne l’observaient pas, est pareil à l’exemple d’un âne chargé de livres. Mauvais est l’exemple des hommes qui rejettent les Signes d’Allāh, et Allāh ne guide pas le peuple qui agit injustement.

Das Gleichnis derer, denen die Thora auferlegt wurde, und die ihr dann nicht nachlebten, ist wie das Gleichnis eines Esels, der Bücher trägt. Übel steht es um Leute, die Allahs Zeichen leugnen. Und Allah weist dem Volk der Frevler nicht den Weg.

奉命遵守 «旧约» («讨拉特») 而不实行其命令的, 他们好像驮书的骡子 (不知其一点内容)。拒绝安拉命令者的情况太坏了。安拉不引导不义的人。

Quelli a cui era stato dato il carico della legge della Torah, ma non vollero portarlo, sono simili a un asino che trasporti un carico di libri. Similitudine ben triste per coloro che rifiutano i segni di Allah. E Allah non guida gente malvagia.

Aquellos a los que se les encomendó la ley del Torah, pero o la observaron, son semejantes a un asno que lleva una carga de libros. Pésimo es el ejemplo de los hombres que rechazan los Signos de Al-lah. Pues Al-lah no guía los pueblos inicuos.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
جن لوگوں پر تورات کی اطاعت واجب کی گئی ہے مگر باوجود اس کے انہوں نے اس پر عمل نہیں کیا‘ ان کی مثال گدھے کی ہے‘ جس نے بہت سی کتابیں اٹھائی ہوتی ہیں (مگر جانتا کچھ نہیں) اللہ کے احکام کا انکار کرنے والی قوم کی حالت بہت بری ہوتی ہے اور اللہ ظالم قوم کو کبھی کامیابی کا منہ نہیں دکھاتا۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
The likeness of those who were charged with the Law of Torah, but did not carry out its commandments, is as the likeness of an ass carrying a load of books. Evil is the likeness of the people who reject the Signs of Allah. And Allah guides not the wrongdoing people

The likeness of those who were entrusted with the law of Torah, but did not carry out its commandments, is as the likeness of an ass carrying a load of books. Evil is the likeness of the people who reject the Signs of Allah. And Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.[4238]
Important Words:
أسفار (books) is the plural of سفر (sifrun) which is derived from سفر (safara). They say سفر الکتاب i.e. he wrote the book means, a book; a large book; a writing (Lane).
Commentary:
The verse contains an implied warning to Muslims not to reject the Promised Messiah like the Jews before them who had rejected the Holy Prophet.
اردو ترجمہ مودودی
جن لوگوں کو توراۃ کا حامل بنایا گیا تھا مگر انہوں نے اس کا بار نہ اٹھا یا، اُن کی مثال اُس گدھے کی سی ہے جس پر کتابیں لدی ہوئی ہوں اِس سے بھی زیادہ بری مثال ہے اُن لوگوں کی جنہوں نے اللہ کی آیات کو جھٹلا دیا ہے ایسے ظالموں کو اللہ ہدایت نہیں دیا کرتا
English - Sahih
The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

ان لوگو ں کی مثال جنہیں تورات اٹھوائی گئی پھر انہوں نے اسے نہ اٹھایا گدھے کی سی مثال ہے جو کتابیں اٹھاتا ہے ان لوگوں کی بہت بری مثال ہے جنہوں نے الله کی آیتو ں کو جھٹلایا اور الله ظالم لوگوں کو ہدایت نہیں کرتا

English - Arberry
The likeness of those who have been loaded with the Torah then they have not carried it, is as the likeness of an ass carrying books. Evil is the likeness of the people who have cried lies to God's signs. God guides never the people of the evildoers.
English - Maududi
The parable of those who were charged with the Torah and then they failed to live up to it is that of a donkey laden with books. Even more evil is the parable of the people who gave the lie to the Signs of Allah. Allah does not direct such wrong-doers to the Right Way.

The likeness of those who were charged with (the law of) the Torah which they did not observe, is that of a donkey who carries a load of books (oblivious of what they contain). How wretched the semblance of the people who deny the words of God! God does not show an unjust people the way.
