7:65

فَکَذَّبُوۡہُ فَاَنۡجَیۡنٰہُ وَالَّذِیۡنَ مَعَہٗ فِی الۡفُلۡکِ وَاَغۡرَقۡنَا الَّذِیۡنَ کَذَّبُوۡا بِاٰیٰتِنَاۤ ۚ اِنَّہُمۡ کَانُوۡا قَوۡمًا عَمِیۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

But they accused him of falsehood, so We saved him and those with him in the Ark, and We drowned those who rejected Our Signs. They were indeed a blind people.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس انہوں نے اسے جھٹلادیا اور ہم نے اسے اور ان کو جو کشتی میں اس کے ساتھ تھے نجات بخشی اور انہیں غرق کر دیا جنہوں نے ہمارے نشانات کو جھٹلایا تھا۔ یقیناً وہ ایک اندھی قوم تھے۔

French

Mais ils le traitèrent de menteur ; alors, Nous l’avons sauvé et ceux qui se trouvaient avec lui dans l’Arche, et Nous avons noyé ceux qui rejetaient Nos Signes. C’était un peuple aveugle, en vérité.

German

Doch sie leugneten ihn, dann erretteten Wir ihn und die bei ihm waren in der Arche, und ließen jene ertrinken, die Unsere Zeichen verwarfen. Sie waren wahrlich ein blindes Volk.

可是[a]他们拒绝了他, 于是我以方舟救了他和他的同伴, 并淹死那些拒绝了我的迹象的人。他们的确是盲目的民族。

Ma essi lo accusarono di falsità, così Noi lo salvammo insieme a quelli che erano con lui nell'arca e annegammo chi respinse i Nostri segni. Essi erano in realtà un popolo cieco.

Spanish

Pero lo acusaron de falsedad, por lo que lo salvamos a él y a quienes con él se encontraban en el Arca y ahogamos a quienes rechazaron Nuestros Signos. Era en verdad un pueblo ciego.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(مگر) پھر (بھی) انہوں نے اس کا انکار کیا۔ پس ہم نے اس کو اور اس کے ساتھیوں کو ایک کشتی کے ذریعہ[1] نجات دی اور ہم نے ان لوگوں کو جنہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کا انکار کیا تھا غرق کر دیا۔ وہ ایک اندھی قوم تھے۔

فِیْ کے معنے ذریعہ کے بھی ہوتے ہیں۔ (مُغْنی اللَّبِیب)

English - Short Commentary Translation

But [d]they called him a liar, so We saved him and those with him in the Ark and We drowned those who rejected Our Signs. They were indeed a blind[994] people.

7:73; 26:120-121.

‘Amin is the plural of A‘ma which means, blind in both eyes; blind in respect of the mind; erring (Lane).

English - Five Volume Translation

But [a]they accused him of falsehood, so We saved him and those with him in the Ark, and We drowned those who rejected Our Signs. They were indeed a blind people.[963]

Important Words:

عمین (blind) or عمون is the plural of اعمی meaning a blind man. The word is derived from عمی meaning, he was or became blind in both eyes; or, figuratively, he was blind in respect of the mind; he erred and did not find the right way. اعمی means, blind in both eyes; blind in respect of the mind; erring (Lane).

Commentary:

In spite of all his arguments and appeals, the people rejected the Prophet Noah and began to treat him as a liar, for they were a "blind people" and could not see and understand the evidence and proofs of his truth. The Flood engulfed them all.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

مگر انہوں نے اس کو جھٹلا دیا آخر کار ہم نے اسے اور اس کے ساتھیوں کو ایک کشتی میں نجات دی اور اُن لوگوں کو ڈبو دیا جنہوں نے ہماری آیات کو جھٹلایا تھا، یقیناً وہ اندھے لوگ تھے

English - Sahih

But they denied him, so We saved him and those who were with him in the ship. And We drowned those who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a blind people.

پھر انہو ں نے اسے جھٹلایا پھر ہم نے اسے اور ا سکے ساتھیوں کو کشتی میں بچا لیا اور جو ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلاتے تھے انہیں غرق کر دیا بے شک وہ لوگ اندھے تھے

But they denied him, so We saved him and those who (were) with him in the ship. And We drowned those who denied Our Verses. Indeed, they were a people blind.

فِیْ کے معنے ذریعہ کے بھی ہوتے ہیں۔ (مُغْنی اللَّبِیب)

But they cried him lies; so We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark, and We drowned those who cried lies to Our signs; assuredly they were a blind people.

English - Maududi

But they charged him with falsehood. Thereupon We delivered Noah and those who were with him in the Ark, and caused those who rejected Our signs as false to be drowned. Surely they were a blind folk.

But they called him a liar, and We saved him and those with him in the Ark, and drowned the others who rejected Our signs, for they were a people purblind.

But they rejected him, and We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark: but We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our signs. They were indeed a blind people!
