فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘Taste ye therefore the punishment: We will give you no increase except in torment.’

تو چکھو۔ پس ہم ہرگز تمہیں عذاب کے سوا کسی اور چیز میں نہیں بڑھائیں گے۔

Kostet drum (die Strafe); Wir werden euch nicht anders mehren als in der Pein.

(我将对他们说: 按照你们自己的行为) “尝受刑罚吧! 除了刑罚痛苦之外, 我什么也不会增予你们。”

«Gustate quindi il castigo. Non vi aumenteremo che il tormento.»

“Probad, pues, el castigo; no os aumentaremos nada salvo el tormento”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پس (اپنے اپنے اعمال کے مطابق) عذاب چکھو اور ہم تم کو (عذاب[3] کے بعد) عذاب ہی دیتے چلے جائیں گے۔

قرآن کریم کے الفاظ میں لَنْ نَّزِیْدَکُمْ اِلاَّ عَذَاباً۔ ہم تک کو عذاب کے سوا کسی چیز میں زیادہ نہیں کریں گے۔ اس کو بامحاورہ اردو میں لکھا جائے تو یہی کہہ سکتے ہیں کہ ہم تم کو عذاب کے بعد عذاب دیتے جائیں گے۔ کیونکہ اس صورت میں عذاب زیادہ ہوجاتا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

‘Taste ye, therefore, the punishment; We will give you no increase except in torment.’

English - Five Volume Translation

‘Taste ye therefore the punishment; We will give you no increase except in torment.’[4544]

Commentary:

Divine punishment will continue to dog the footsteps of disbelievers. Punishments in various forms will be inflicted upon them one after the other. This is the meaning of the words: "We will give you no increase except in torment."

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اب چکھو مزہ، ہم تمہارے لیے عذاب کے سوا کسی چیز میں ہرگز اضافہ نہ کریں گے

"So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment."

پس چکھو سو ہم تمہارے لیے عذاب ہی زیادہ کرتے رہیں گے
