اِنَّاۤ اَنۡذَرۡنٰکُمۡ عَذَابًا قَرِیۡبًا یَّوۡمَ یَنۡظُرُ الۡمَرۡءُ مَا قَدَّمَتۡ یَدَاہُ وَیَقُوۡلُ الۡکَافِرُ یٰلَیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتُ تُرٰبًۢا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Verily, We have warned you of a punishment which is near at hand: a day when man will see what his hands have sent on before, and the disbeliever will say, ‘Would that I were mere dust!’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

یقیناً ہم نے تمہیں ایک قریب کے عذاب سے مُتنبّہ کردیا ہے۔ جس دن انسان وہ دیکھ لے گا جو اس کے دونوں ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا اور کافر کہے گا اے کاش! میں خاک ہوچکا ہوتا۔

French

En vérité, Nous vous avons avertis d’un châtiment qui est proche ; le jour où l’homme verra ce que ses mains ont envoyé en avant, et où le mécréant dira « Que je voudrais n’être que de la poussière ! »

German

Wahrlich, Wir haben euch gewarnt vor einer Strafe, die nah bevorsteht: einem Tage, da der Mensch erblicken wird, was seine Hände vorausgeschickt haben, und der Ungläubige sprechen wird: "O wäre ich doch Staub!"

Chinese

我以就要来临的惩罚警告你们;[1581]那天人将看见他的所作所为, 不信的人将说: [d]“假如我原来只是灰尘, 那多么好啊!”

“惩罚” 的意思可以指今世有罪的不信者要遭受的惩罚。另外在 «古兰经» 32:22中, 这个惩罚被描写为更临近的惩罚, 以对照后世更大的惩罚。

Italian

In verità, vi abbiamo avvertiti su di un castigo che è imminente, un giorno in cui l'uomo vedrà quello che le sue mani hanno mandato innanzi e il miscredente dirà: «Magari non fossi che polvere!»

Spanish

En verdad, Os hemos advertido de un castigo que está a las puertas: un día en el que el hombre verá lo que sus manos obraron, y el incrédulo dirá: “¡Ojalá no fuera más que polvo!”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

ہم نے تم کو ایک قریب (زمانہ میں آنے والے) عذاب سے خوب ہوشیار کر دیا ہے۔ جس دن انسان اس چیز کو دیکھ لے گا جو اس کے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجی [1]ہے اور کافر (اس دن) کہے گا‘ اے کاش! میں مٹی [2]ہوتا۔

یعنی جو عمل وہ کر چکاہے۔

بعض مسلمان فرقے صحابہؓ کے بُغض میں اس قدر بڑھ گئے ہیں کہ وہ کہتے ہیں کہ حضرت ابوبکرؓ موت کے وقت یہی فقرہ کہتے تھے۔ پس ان کا کفر ثابت ہے۔ حالانکہ اگر یہ روایت ثابت ہو اور یہ آیت حضرت ابوبکرؓ کے متعلق ہو‘ تو ابوبکرؓ کے ایمان کے لحاظ سے اس کے یہ معنے ہوں گے کہ کفار کی باتوں کا منکر یعنی ابوبکرؓ یہ کہے گا کہ کاش! میرے ساتھ خداتعالیٰ کا معاملہ ایسا ہی ہوتا کہ نہ وہ میرے نیک اعمال کا بدلہ دیتا اور نہ میری غلطیوں کی سزا دیتا۔ اور یہ فقرہ ایک مومن کامل کا فقرہ ہے۔ حدیثوں میں تو خود رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے متعلق بھی آتا ہے کہ آپ یہ فرمایا کرتے تھے کہ میں اپنے اعمال کی و

English - Short Commentary Translation

Verily, We have warned you of a punishment which is near at hand[3235]—a day when man will see what his hands have sent on before and the disbeliever will say, [a]‘Would that I were mere dust!’

4:43.

"The punishment" may be the punishment which is meted out to the sinful disbelievers in this world. Elsewhere in the Qur’an (32:22) this punishment has been described as nearer punishment as against the greater punishment which is punishment in the Hereafter.

English - Five Volume Translation

Verily, We have warned you of a punishment which is near at hand; [d]a day when man will see what his hands have sent on before, and the disbeliever will say, ‘Would that I were mere dust!’[4550]

Commentary:

"The punishment which is near at hand," seems to refer to the punishment which is meted out to the sinful disbelievers in this world. Elsewhere in the Quran (32:22) this punishment has been described as العذاب الادنی (nearer punishment) as against العذاب الاکبر (the greater punishment) which is punishment in the Hereafter. This nearer punishment took the form of the defeats which the disbelievers suffered at the hands of Muslims, and finally that of the Fall of Mecca when the cup of their utter mortification and humiliation became full to the brim. The verse gives a befitting picture of the state of mind of the Quraish leaders on that day.

ہم نے تم لوگوں کو اُس عذاب سے ڈرا دیا ہے جو قریب آ لگا ہے جس روز آدمی وہ سب کچھ دیکھ لے گا جو اس کے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا ہے، اور کافر پکار اٹھے گا کہ کاش میں خاک ہوتا

English - Sahih

Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"

بے شک ہم نے تمہیں ایک عنقریب آنے والے عذاب سے ڈرایا ہے جس دن آدمی دیکھے گا جو کچھ اس کے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجا تھا اور کافر کہے گا اے کاش میں مٹی ہو گیا ہوتا
