9:100

وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ وَٱلْأَنصَارِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِإِحْسَٰنٍ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍ تَجْرِى تَحْتَهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And as for the foremost among the believers, the first of the Emigrants and the Helpers, and those who followed them in the best possible manner, Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him; and He has prepared for them Gardens beneath which flow rivers. They will abide therein for ever. That is the supreme triumph.

اور مہاجرین اور انصار میں سے سبقت لے جانے والے اوّلین اور وہ لوگ جنہوں نے حُسنِ عمل کے ساتھ ان کی پیروی کی، اللہ ان سے راضی ہو گیا اور وہ اس سے راضی ہوگئے اور اس نے ان کے لئے ایسی جنتیں تیار کی ہیں جن کے دامن میں نہریں بہتی ہیں۔ وہ ہمیشہ ان میں رہنے والے ہیں۔ یہ بہت عظیم کامیابی ہے۔

French

Et quant à ceux qui sont plus en avant parmi les croyants, les premiers des Emigrés et des Ansārs, et ceux qui les ont suivis de façon excellente, Allāh est satisfait d’eux, et ils sont satisfaits de Lui ; et Il a préparé à leur intention des Jardins sous lesquels coulent des rivières. Ils y demeureront éternellement. C’est là le triomphe suprême

German

Die Vordersten, die ersten der Auswanderer (aus Mekka) und der Helfer (in Medina), und jene, die ihnen auf die beste Art gefolgt sind, mit ihnen ist Allah wohl zufrieden und sie sind wohl zufrieden mit Ihm; und Er hat ihnen Gärten bereitet, durch welche Ströme fließen. Darin sollen sie weilen ewig und immerdar. Das ist die höchste Glückseligkeit.

关于迁士和辅士中先进的人与最好地追随他们的人, [a]安拉满意了他们, 他们也满意了安拉, 他为他们安排了诸河川流不息的天园, 他们将永居其中。这是一个最大的成功。

E per quanto riguarda i migliori fra i credenti, i primi fra gli Emigranti* e gli Aiutanti**, e coloro che li hanno seguiti con eccellenza, Allah è ben compiaciuto di loro, ed essi sono ben compiaciuti di Lui. Ed Egli ha preparato per essi giardini a valle dei quali scorrono fiumi. Essi vi abiteranno per sempre. Questo è il trionfo supremo.

En cuanto a los más destacados de entre los creyentes, los primeros Emigrantes y Socorredores, y los que les siguieron de manera excelente, Al-lah se siente contento con ellos y ellos contentos con Él. Y Él les ha preparado Jardines por los que corren ríos. En ellos habitarán para siempre. Ése es el triunfo supremo.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جو مہاجرین اور انصار میں سے سبقت لے جانے والے ہیں اور وہ لوگ بھی جو کہ کامل اطاعت دکھاتے ہوئے ان کے پیچھے چلے۔ اللہ ان سے راضی ہو گیا اور وہ اللہ سے راضی ہو گئے۔ اس نے ان کے لئے ایسی جنتیں تیار کی ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہیں وہ ان میں ہمیشہ رہتے چلے جائیں گے۔ یہ بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And as for the foremost among the believers, the first of the Emigrants and the Helpers, and those who followed them in the best possible manner, [a]Allah is well-pleased with them[1212]and they are well-pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them Gardens underneath which streams flow. They will abide therein for ever. That is the supreme triumph.

58:23; 98:9.

Incidentally, the verse constitutes a forcible refutation of the Shi‘ah accusations against the first three Successors of the Holy Prophet and his other prominent Companions.

And as for the foremost among the believers, the first of the Migrants and the Helpers, and those who followed them in the best possible manner, [a]Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him; and He has prepared for them Gardens beneath which flow rivers. Important Words:

السابقون (foremost) is the plural of السابق being derived from سبق. They say سبقه i.e. he got or went or came before him or ahead of him; he outstripped him in a race, etc. So سابق is one who outstrips others in faith and actions (Lane).

الاولون (the first) is the plural of الاول which is derived from وأل being the opposite of الآخر i.e. the last. اول means, the first; one preceding all others (Lane & Aqrab).

Commentary:

The verse mentions two distinctive qualifications of prominent believers: (1) السابقون i.e. those who are foremost in spiritual rank, outstripping others in faith and actions; and (2) الاولون i.e. those who are the first to believe, others only following them.

The Companions of the Holy Prophet are thus held up here as models for others, being both foremost in rank and the first to believe. Nay, even those, who sincerely followed in their footsteps, became the favoured ones of God. Incidentally, the verse also constitutes a forcible refutation of the Shia accusations against the first three Successors of the Holy Prophet and his prominent Companions.

وہ مہاجر و انصار جنہوں نے سب سے پہلے دعوت ایمان پر لبیک کہنے میں سبقت کی، نیز وہ جو بعد میں راستبازی کے ساتھ پیچھے آئے، اللہ ان سے راضی ہوا اور وہ اللہ سے راضی ہوئے، اللہ نے ان کے لیے ایسے باغ مہیا کر رکھے ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی اور وہ ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے، یہی عظیم الشان کامیابی ہے

English - Sahih

And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct - Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him, and He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.

اور جو لوگ قدیم میں پہلے ہجرت کرنے والوں اور مدد دینے والو ں میں سے اور وہ لوگ جو نیکی میں ان کی پیروی کرنے والے ہیں الله ان سے راضی ہوئےاوروہ اس سے راضی ہوئےان کے لیے ایسے باغ تیار کیے ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہیں ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے یہ بڑی کامیابی ہے

And the forerunners, the first among the emigrants and the helpers and those who followed them in righteousness, Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. And the Outstrippers, the first of the Emigrants and the Helpers, and those who followed them in good-doing -- God will be well-pleased with them and they are well-pleased with Him; and He has prepared for them gardens underneath which rivers flow, therein to dwell forever and ever; that is the mighty triumph.

And of those who led the way - the first of the Emigrants (Muhajirun) and the Helpers (Ansar), and those who followed them in the best possible manner - Allah is well-pleased with them and they are well-pleased with Allah. Those among the migrants (from Makkah) and helpers (in Madina) who were the first to believe, and those who followed them in goodness, have been accepted by God and they follow His way. For them He has gardens with streams of running water where they will abide for ever; and that is happiness supreme.

The vanguard (of Islam)- the first of those who forsook (their homes) and of those who gave them aid, and (also) those who follow them in (all) good deeds,- well-pleased is Allah with them, as are they with Him: for them hath He prepared gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that is the supreme felicity.
