إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا
全地球都将经历各种各样内在和外在的动荡和剧变。
یعنی اندرونی اور بیرونی قسم کے زلازل آجائیں گے‘ جیسا کہ آج کل زمین کے اندر کے لاوے کی وجہ سے بھی اس پر زلزلے آرہے ہیں اور ایٹم بموں اور ہائیڈروجن بموں کی وجہ سے بھی اس پر زلزلے آرہے ہیں اور ایسی روحانی تحریکیں جاری ہو گئی ہیں جن کی وجہ سے زمین کے دل ہل گئے ہیں۔
The whole earth will experience all manner of internal as well as external commotions and upheavals.
Important Words:
زلزلت (is shaken). زلزل الله الارض means, God made the earth to quake violently, or put the earth into a state of convulsion or violent motion. زلزل فلانا means, he frightened such a one and terrified him. زلزل الابل means, he drove the camels with violence or vehemence, means an earthquake, convulsion, commotion or violent agitation; a great calamity (Lane & Aqrab).
Commentary:
The expression زلزلت الارض زلزالھا means that the whole earth will experience all manner of internal as well as external commotion and upheavals. In our time not only has the earth been constantly shaken by most destructive earthquakes, wars and other calamities and catastrophes at frequent intervals, but also its dwellers have been subjected to violent and virulent agitation in every walk of life. Man has experienced catastrophic changes never witnessed by him before.

وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا
(a) 地壳将裂开并抛出矿物财富的宝库; (b) 将掀起涉及自然科学和精神科学尤其是地质学和考古学的知识大解放和大高潮。
اس کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ جتنے علوم اس دنیا میں مخفی تھے وہ ظاہر ہونے لگ جائیں گے خواہ دینی ہوں یا دنیوی۔ جیسا کہ اس وقت سائنس بھی ترقی کر رہی ہے اور قرآنی علوم بھی نئے نئے کھل رہے ہیں۔
(a) The bowels of the earth will be ripped open and it will throw up its treasures of mineral wealth; (b) there will be a vast release and upsurge of knowledge of all kinds relating to physical as well as spiritual sciences, especially to the sciences of geology and archaeology.

أثقالھا (her burdens) is the plural of ثقل which is inf. noun from ثقل (thaqula) which means, it was or became heavy, weighty or ponderous, or it became preponderant ideally; it was or became oppressive or grievous. ثقل (thiqlun) means, luggage of a traveller; household goods; anything held in high estimate or anything which is in much demand and is preserved; treasure or buried treasure; burden (Lane & Aqrab).
Commentary:
The verse may have one of the following interpretations:
1. The bowels of the earth will be ripped open and it will throw up its treasures of mineral wealth.
2. There will be a vast release and upsurge of knowledge of all kinds, relating to physical as well as spiritual sciences, especially in the sciences of geology and archaeology.
3. People will throw off the yoke of their rulers and religious leaders and will revolt against oppression, throwing the yoke of subjection off their shoulders.

اس کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ جتنے علوم اس دنیا میں مخفی تھے وہ ظاہر ہونے لگ جائیں گے خواہ دینی ہوں یا دنیوی۔ جیسا کہ اس وقت سائنس بھی ترقی کر رہی ہے اور قرآنی علوم بھی نئے نئے کھل رہے ہیں۔

وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا
将有许许多多意义深远的变化, 而所作出的发现非常巨大, 所以人类不禁惊奇而困惑地大喊: “地球是怎么啦?”
یعنی اس زمانہ میں انسان حیران ہو جائے گا اور کہے گا کہ کیا بات ہے کہ آج زمین کے اندر سے بھی زلزلہ کا مادہ پھوٹ رہا ہے اور باہر سے بھی زلزلہ کے سامان پیدا کیے جا رہے ہیں اور روحانی طور پر بھی ایسی تحریکیں جاری کر دی گئی ہیں جن سے زمین کے رہنے والوں کے دل ہل گئے ہیں۔

将有许许多多意义深远的变化, 而所作出的发现非常巨大, 所以人类不禁惊奇而困惑地大喊: “地球是怎么啦?”

یعنی اس زمانہ میں انسان حیران ہو جائے گا اور کہے گا کہ کیا بات ہے کہ آج زمین کے اندر سے بھی زلزلہ کا مادہ پھوٹ رہا ہے اور باہر سے بھی زلزلہ کے سامان پیدا کیے جا رہے ہیں اور روحانی طور پر بھی ایسی تحریکیں جاری کر دی گئی ہیں جن سے زمین کے رہنے والوں کے دل ہل گئے ہیں۔

Commentary:
The changes will be so many and so far reaching and the discoveries made so great that one will exclaim in wonder and bewilderment: "What is the matter with the earth!"

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا
关于这节经文的意义, 据记载, 穆圣曾说: “每一件暗中所做的事都会真相大白 (تِرْمِذِی, Tirmidhi)。”
اس دن یعنی آخری زمانہ کے متعلق جتنی پیشگوئیاں تھیں وہ سب پوری ہو جائیں گی۔ گویا زمین اپنے پوشیدہ خزانے ظاہر کر دے گی۔

All prophecies concerning the present age will be fulfilled and all that had hitherto remained obscure will become manifest. اس آیت سے پتہ لگتا ہے کہ جو معنے ہم نے اوپر کیے ہیں وہی درست ہیں کیونکہ اس میں بتایا گیا ہے کہ زمین کا یہ زلزلہ طبعی حالات کے ماتحت نہیں آرہا‘ بلکہ رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ سے زمین کو حکم دے دیا گیا تھا کہ وہ آخری زمانہ میں ان حالات کو ظاہر کر دے گا۔
The earth will throw out its treasures because God had commanded her to do so, the word Auha meaning, he commanded (Aqrab).
Commentary:
At about 65 places in the Quran, excluding the present verse, wherever the word وحی has been used, it is followed by the preposition الی . In the verse under comment, however, it is followed by the particle ل which being synonymous with فیmeans, "concerning," and the verse means, the Lord has sent down the revelation concerning her, the recipient of the revelation—the Holy Prophet—being left unmentioned. مطلب یہ ہے کہ وہ زمانہ آزادی کا ہوگا اور مختلف جماعتیں اس امر کا اظہار کر دیں گی کہ ہماری جماعت کا یہ نام ہے اور یہ کام ہے اور اس سے ان کی یہ غرض ہوگی کہ لوگ ان کے نام اور کام کو دیکھ کر ان کی جماعت میں شامل ہو جائیں اور دنیا ان کے متعلق اعلیٰ جماعت ہونے کا فیصلہ کر دے۔
In the Latter Days, in order to protect and safeguard their political, social and economic interests, people will form themselves into parties, companies and groups on political and economic bases; and powerful guilds, cartels and syndicates will come into existence.
Individuals will pool their resources and collective efforts will take the place of individual efforts in order that they might make their weight felt and their labours to produce good result.

The verse means that in the time of the Promised Messiah, in order to protect and safeguard their political, social and economic interests, people will form themselves into parties, companies and groups. There will be political parties and parties formed on economic basis; and powerful guilds, cartels and syndicates will also come into existence.

No action of man, good or bad, is wasted. It must and does produce its result.

Commentary:
The principle that no action of man, good or bad, is wasted and must produce some result, has been explained variously in the Quran. These two verses contain at once a message of solace and comfort for the righteous, and a warning for the evildoers, that they shall reap the consequences of their actions.

These two verses contain at once a message of solace and comfort for the righteous, and a warning for the evildoers, that they shall reap the consequences of their actions.
