قَالُوا۟ تَقَاسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهِۦ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They said, “Swear to each other by Allah that we will surely attack him and his family by night, and then we will say to his heir, ‘We witnessed not the destruction of his family, and most surely we are truthful.’”

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

انہوں نے کہا آپس میں اللہ کی قسمیں کھاؤ کہ ہم ضرور اس پر اور اس کے گھر والوں پر شب خون ماریں گے۔ پھر ہم ضرور اس کے سرپرست سے کہیں گے کہ ہم نے تو اس کے گھر والوں کی ہلاکت کا مشاہدہ نہیں کیا اور یقیناً ہم سچے ہیں۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

انہوں نے کہا تم سب اس پر اللہ کی قسم کھاؤ کہ ہم اس کے اور اس کے گھر والوں پر رات کے وقت حملہ کریں گے پھر جو بھی اس کے خون کا مطالبہ[3] کرنے آئے گا ہم اس سے کہیں گے کہ ہم نے اس کے اہل کی ہلاکت (کے واقعہ) کو نہیں دیکھا اور ہم سچے ہیں۔

قرآن مجید میں وَلِیٌّ کا لفظ ہے اور وَلِیٌّ کے معنے ایسے شخص کے ہوتے ہیں جو کسی کے کاموں ں کا ذمہ وار اور اس کا مددگار ہوتا ہے۔ اسی طرح جو شخص کسی کی موت کے بعد اس کے قتل کے بدلہ کا مطالبہ کرے اس کوبھی عربی میں وَلِیٌّ کہتے ہیں۔ کیونکہ ایسا شخص اس کا مددگار ہوتا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

They said, “Swear one to another by Allah that we will surely attack him and his family by night, and then we will say to his heir,[2178A] ‘We witnessed not the destruction of his family, and most surely we are truthful.”

Waliyy means, an heir; one who demands retribution for murder; an avenger of blood (Lane).

English - Five Volume Translation

They said, “Swear one to another by Allah that we will surely attack him and his family by night, and then we will say to his heir, ‘We witnessed not the destruction of his family, and most surely we are truthful.’”[2849]

Important Words:

لنبیتنه (We will surely attack him by night) is derived from بات. They say بات فی المکان i.e. he passed the night in the place.بیت الامر (bayyata) means, he performed the thing at night. بیت العدو means, he came upon the enemy suddenly, took him by surprise, attacked him by night or at night (Lane & Aqrab).

انہوں نے آپس میں کہا "خدا کی قسم کھا کر عہد کر لو کہ ہم صالحؑ اور اس کے گھر والوں پر شب خون ماریں گے اور پھر اس کے ولی سے کہہ دیں گے کہ ہم اس خاندان کی ہلاکت کے موقع پر موجود نہ تھے، ہم بالکل سچ کہتے ہیں"

English - Sahih

They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allah that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor, 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.' "

کہنے لگے آپس میں الله کی قسم کھاؤ کہ صالح اور اس کے گھر والوں پر شبخوں ماریں پھر اس کے وارث سے کہہ دیں ہم تو اس کے کنبہ کی ہلاکت کے وقت موجود ہی نہ تھے اور بے شک ہم سچے ہیں

They said, "Swear to each other by Allah surely, we will attack him by night, and his family. Then we will surely say to his heir, "Not we witnessed (the) destruction (of) his family, and indeed, we (are) surely truthful."

They said: "Swear to one another in the name of Allah that we shall make a sudden night swoop on Salih and his family and will then tell their heirs that we did not witness the destruction of his family. We are indeed truthful."

They said: "Let us swear by God that we will attack Saleh and his family at night, and later tell his heirs: 'We did not see his family destroyed, and we speak the truth.'"
