فَسَقَ is said to signify primarily It (a thing)
went forth, from another thing, in a bad, or corrupt, manner. (Msb.) One says, فَسَقَتِ الرُّطَبَةُ,
(S, O, Msb,) or فَسَقَتِ الرُّطَبَةُ عَنْ قِشْرِهَا, (K,) The
fresh ripe date came forth from its skin; (S, O,
Msb, K;) as also ↓ انفسقت: (IDrd, O, K:) and
in like manner فَسَقَ is said of anything as meaning it came forth from its integument: so says EsSarakustee. (Msb.) ―

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And remember the time when We said to the angels, ‘Submit to Adam,’ and they all submitted, except Iblis. He was one of the Jinn; and he disobeyed the command of his Lord. Will you then take him and his offspring for friends instead of Me while they are your enemies? Evil is the exchange for the wrongdoers.

اور جب ہم نے فرشتوں کو کہا کہ آدم کے لئے سجدہ کرو تو سب نے سجدہ کیا سوائے ابلیس کے۔ وہ جنوں میں سے تھا پس وہ اپنے ربّ کے حکم سے رُوگردان ہوگیا۔ تو کیا تم اسے اور اس کے چیلوں کو میرے سوا دوست پکڑ بیٹھو گے جبکہ وہ تمہارے دشمن ہیں؟ ظالموں کے لئے یہ تو بہت ہی برا بدل ہے۔
French
Et souvenez-vous lorsque Nous avons dit aux anges : « Soumettez-vous à Adam, » et tous se soumirent excepté Iblīs. Il était un des djinns ; et il désobéit à l’ordre de son Seigneur. Voulez-vous donc les prendre, lui et sa progéniture, pour amis à Ma place alors qu’ils sont vos ennemis ! Pour les injustes l’échange est vraiment mauvais.

Und (gedenke der Zeit) da Wir zu den Engeln sprachen: "Bezeuget Adam Ehrerbietung", und sie bezeugten Ehrerbietung. Nur Iblis nicht. Er war einer der Jinn*, so war er ungehorsam gegen den Befehl seines Herrn. Wollt ihr nun ihn und seine Nachkommenschaft zu Freunden nehmen statt Mich, und sie sind eure Feinde? Schlimm ist der Eintausch für die Frevler.

Y acuérdate de cuando dijimos a los ángeles: “Someteos a dán” y todos ellos se sometieron, excepto Iblis. Era uno de los Yinn; y desobedeció la orden de su Señor. ¿Tomaréis acaso a él y a su progenie como amigos en lugar de a Mí, a pesar de que son vuestros enemigos? Malo es el intercambio para los inicuos.

اور (اس وقت کو بھی یاد کرو) جب ہم نے فرشتوں سے کہا تھا کہ تم آدم کے ساتھ (مل کر) سجدہ کرو۔ اس پر انہوں نے (تو اس حکم کے مطابق اس کے ساتھ ہوکر) سجدہ کیا مگر ابلیس نے (نہ کیا) وہ جِنّوں [1]میں سے تھا سو اس نے (اپنی فطرت کے مطابق) اپنے رب کے حکم کی نافرمانی کی۔ (اے میرے بندو)! کیا تم مجھے چھوڑ کر اس (شیطان) کو اور اس کی نسل کو (اپنے) دوست بناتے ہو حالانکہ وہ تمہارے دشمن ہیں وہ (شیطان) ظالموں کے لئے بہت ہی برا بدلہ ثابت ہوا ہے۔

Commentary:
It is worthy of special note that at several places in the Quran where mention is made of the punishment which overtakes a people when they reject their Prophet, its object is to warn their successors that they should not repeat the errors of their predecessors. The example of Adam, our great progenitor whom Satan sought to seduce and involve in trouble, is set before disbelievers that they may benefit by it and not fall victims to the seductions of Satan and reject their Prophet.

یاد کرو، جب ہم نے فرشتوں سے کہا کہ آدمؑ کو سجدہ کرو تو انہوں نے سجدہ کیا مگر ابلیس نے نہ کیا وہ جنوں میں سے تھا اس لیے اپنے رب کے حکم کی اطاعت سے نکل گیا اب کیا تم مجھے چھوڑ کر اُس کو اور اس کی ذرّیّت کو اپنا سرپرست بناتے ہو حالانکہ وہ تمہارے دشمن ہیں؟ بڑا ہی برا بدل ہے جسے ظالم لوگ اختیار کر رہے ہیں
English - Sahih
And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was of the jinn and departed from the command of his Lord. Then will you take him and his descendants as allies other than Me while they are enemies to you? Wretched it is for the wrongdoers as an exchange.

And when We said to the angels, 'Bow yourselves to Adam'; so they bowed themselves, save Iblis; he was one of the jinn, and committed ungodliness against his Lord's command. What, and do you take him and his seed to be your friends, apart from Me, and they an enemy to you? How evil is that exchange for the evildoers!

And recall when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves before Adam"; all of them fell prostrate, except Iblis. He was of the jinn and so disobeyed the command of his Lord.
