English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And whatever blessing you have, it is from Allah. And when affliction befalls you, it is unto Him that you cry for help.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جو بھی تمہارے پاس نعمت ہے وہ اللہ ہی کی طرف سے ہے۔ پھر جب تمہیں کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو اُسی کی طرف تم زاری کرتے (ہوئے جھکتے) ہو۔

French

Et tout bienfait à votre disposition provient d’Allāh. Et lorsque le malheur vous surprend, c’est Lui que vous suppliez pour l’enlever.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جو نعمت بھی تمہارے شامل حال ہے وہ اللہ ہی کی طرف سے ہے پھر جب تمہیں (کوئی تنگی اور) تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو (اس وقت بھی) تم اسی کے حضور فریاد کرتے ہو۔

Commentary:

This verse refers to those signs and evidences in human nature which support the Unity of Godhead. Various blessings which man enjoys in life evidently all form parts of one common system. But foolish people attribute some of them to their false gods. When, however, they are overtaken by some sudden calamity they forget all these pseudo-gods and turn to the One True God. This proves that in their heart of hearts polytheists are never satisfied with their idolatrous beliefs.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

تم کو جو نعمت بھی حاصل ہے اللہ ہی کی طرف سے ہے پھر جب کوئی سخت وقت تم پر آتا ہے تو تم لوگ خود اپنی فریادیں لے کر اُسی کی طرف دوڑتے ہو

English - Sahih

And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help.

اور تمہارے پاس جو نعمت بھی ہے سو الله کی طرف سے ہے پھر جب تمہیں تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تواسی سے فریاد کرتے ہو

یہاں تک کہ جب ہم ان کے خوشحال لوگوں کو عذاب کے ذریعہ پکڑ لیتے ہیں تو اچانک وہ چیخنے چلانے لگتے ہیں۔

Jusqu’à ce que Nous saisissions par le châtiment ceux d’entre eux qui vivent dans le luxe, et voilà, ils crient au secours !

bis sie wenn Wir die Reichen unter ihnen mit Strafe erfassen um Hilfe schreien.

Important Words:

یجئرون (they cry for help) is derived from جأر which means, he (a bull) lowed. جأر الی اللّٰه means, he raised his voice in prayer or supplication; he cried out or called for help; he humbled himself with earnest supplication to God. جأرت الارض means, the herbage of the land grew tall (Lane & Aqrab).

یہاں تک کہ جب ہم ان کے عیاشوں کو عذاب میں پکڑ لیں گے تو پھر وہ ڈکرانا شروع کر دیں گے

Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help.
