وَاَخِیۡ ہٰرُوۡنُ ہُوَ اَفۡصَحُ مِنِّیۡ لِسَانًا فَاَرۡسِلۡہُ مَعِیَ رِدۡءًا یُّصَدِّقُنِیۡۤ ۖ اِنِّیۡۤ اَخَافُ اَنۡ یُّکَذِّبُوۡنِ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘And my brother Aaron — he is more eloquent in speech than I; send him therefore with me as a helper that he may bear witness to my truth. I fear that they will accuse me of falsehood.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور میرا بھائی ہارون زبان کے لحاظ سے مجھ سے زیادہ فصیح ہے۔ پس میرے مددگار کے طور پر اسے میرے ساتھ بھیج دے وہ میری تصدیق کرے گا۔ یقیناً مجھے (یہ بھی) ڈر ہے کہ وہ مجھے جھٹلا دیں گے۔

Et mon frère Aaron – il est plus éloquent que moi en paroles ; envoie-le donc avec moi comme auxiliaire, afin qu’il puisse rendre témoignage à ma véracité. Vraiment, je crains qu’ils ne m’accusent de mensonges. »

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور میرا بھائی ہارون بات کرنے میں مجھ سے زیادہ فصیح ہے۔ پس اس کو میرے ساتھ مددگار کے طور پر بھیج۔ تا کہ وہ میری تصدیق کرے۔ میں ڈرتا ہوں کہ وہ میری تکذیب نہ کریں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

And my brother Aaron— he is more eloquent in speech than I; [c]send him, therefore, with me as a helper[2215] that he may bear witness to my truth. I fear that they will charge me with falsehood.’

20:30-33; 26:14.

Rid’ means, a buttress or the like by means of which a wall is strengthened and supported; a thing by means of which one is helped, aided or assisted; an aider or helper. They say, Fulanun Rid’u Fulanin, i.e. such a one is an aider to such a one (Lane).

And my brother Aaron—he is more eloquent in speech than I; [b]send him therefore with me as a helper that he may bear witness to my truth. I fear that they will accuse me of falsehood.’[2900]

Important Words:

ردأ (helper) is infinitive noun from ردأ (rada’). They say ردأ الحائط i.e. he supported or propped the wall by means of a piece of timber or wood or buttress to prevent it from falling. ردأ means, he helped, aided or assisted him. ردء means, a buttress or the like by means of which a wall is strengthened and supported; a thing by means of which one is helped, aided or assisted; a helper or aider. They say فلان ردء فلان i.e. such a one is an aider to such a one (Lane & Aqrab).

اور میرا بھائی ہارونؑ مجھے سے زیادہ زبان آور ہے، اسے میرے ساتھ مدد گار کے طور پر بھیج تاکہ وہ میری تائید کرے، مجھے اندیشہ ہے کہ وہ لوگ مجھے جھٹلائیں گے"

English - Sahih

And my brother Aaron is more fluent than me in tongue, so send him with me as support, verifying me. Indeed, I fear that they will deny me."

اور میرے بھائی ہارون کی زبان مجھ سے زياہ روان ہے اسے میرے ساتھ مددگار بنا کر بھیج کہ میری تصدیق کرےکیونکہ میں ڈرتا ہوں کہ وہ مجھے جھٹلائیں گے

And my brother Harun, he (is) more eloquent than me (in) speech, so send him with me (as) a helper, who will confirm me. Indeed, I fear that they will deny me."
