فَلَمَّآ أَنجَىٰهُمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَبْغُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ ۗ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّمَا بَغْيُكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُم ۖ مَّتَٰعَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

But when He has delivered them, lo! they begin to commit excesses in the earth wrongfully. O ye men, your excesses are only against your own selves. Have the enjoyment of the present life. Then to Us shall be your return; and We will inform you of what you used to do.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

پس جب وہ انہیں نجات دے دیتا ہے تو وہ زمین میں ناحق بغاوت کرنے لگتے ہیں۔ اے لوگو! یقیناً تمہاری بغاوت تمہارے اپنے ہی خلاف ہے۔ (تمہیں) دنیا کی زندگی کا تھوڑا سا فائدہ اٹھانا ہے پھر ہماری طرف ہی تمہارا لوٹ کر آنا ہے۔ پھر ہم تمہیں ان اعمال کی خبر دیں گے جو تم کیا کرتے تھے۔

French

Mais lorsqu’Il les a sauvés, voilà qu’ils se mettent à commettre des excès sur la terre avec iniquité. Ô hommes, vos excès ne nuisent qu’à vous-mêmes – une simple jouissance de la vie d’ici-bas. Ensuite, c’est auprès de Nous que sera votre retour ; et Nous vous informerons de ce que vous aviez l’habitude de faire.

German

Doch wenn Er sie dann errettet hat, siehe, schon beginnen sie, wieder Gewalt auf Erden zu verüben ohne Recht. O ihr Menschen, eure Gewalttat richtet sich nur gegen euch selbst. (Genießet) die Gaben des Lebens hienieden*. Zu Uns soll dann eure Heimkehr sein, dann werden Wir euch ankünden, was ihr gewirkt.

Ma non appena Egli li ha salvati, ecco, cominciano a commettere degli eccessi sulla terra, senza giustificazione. O voi uomini! I vostri eccessi sono solo contro voi stessi - il semplice godimento della vita presente. Poi tornerete a Noi; e Noi vi informeremo del vostro operato.

Pero cuando Él los ha librado, he ahí que empiezan a cometer excesos injustos en la tierra. ¡Oh humanos! vuestros excesos sólo son contra vosotros mismos: un mero placer de la vida presente. Después volveréis a Nosotros; y os informaremos de lo que solíais hacer.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پھر جب وہ انہیں (اس عذاب سے) نجات دیکر خشکی پر پہنچاتا ہے تو وہ جھٹ زمین میں ناحق سرکشی کرنے لگتے ہیں (اے لوگو)! تمہارا صرف ورلی زندگی کو چاہنا تمہارے نفسوں پر (وبال بن کر) پڑے گا۔ پھر ہماری طرف تمہاری واپسی ہوگی۔ تب جو (کچھ کہ) تم کرتے رہے ہوگے‘ ہم اس سے تمہیں آگاہ کریں گے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

But [a]when He has delivered them, lo! they begin to commit excesses in the earth wrongfully. O ye people, [b]your excesses in seeking the enjoyment of the present life are only against your own selves. Then to Us shall be your return; and We will inform you of what you used to do.

But [a]when He has delivered them, lo! they begin to commit excesses in the earth wrongfully. O ye men, [b]your excesses are only against your own selves. Have the enjoyment of the present life. Then to Us shall be your return; and We will inform you of what you used to do.[1299]

Commentary:

As stated in the preceding verse, disbelievers temporarily mend their ways when they are seized with punishment but, as the present verse points out, they revert to the paths of transgression and iniquity when the punishment passes away, forgetting that their acts of transgression will only tell against themselves. The words, your excesses are only against your own selves, point out that the Law is not a curse but a mercy of God, sent down for the well-being of mankind. Therefore, he who defies or infringes the Law, only harms himself.

The words, Have the enjoyment of the present life, are intended to signify that even the rejecters of truth may have temporary benefits and may even "enjoy" their state of rejection just as a diseased person temporarily enjoys the things forbidden him. But the result is always disastrous.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

مگر جب وہ ان کو بچا لیتا ہے تو پھر وہی لوگ حق سے منحرف ہو کر زمین میں بغاوت کرنے لگتے ہیں لوگو، تمہاری یہ بغاوت اُلٹی تمہارے ہی خلاف پڑ رہی ہے دنیا کے چند روزہ مزے ہیں (لُوٹ لو)، پھر ہماری طرف تمہیں پلٹ کر آنا ہے، اُس وقت ہم تمہیں بتا دیں گے کہ تم کیا کچھ کرتے رہے ہو

English - Sahih

But when He saves them, at once they commit injustice upon the earth without right. O mankind, your injustice is only against yourselves, [being merely] the enjoyment of worldly life. Then to Us is your return, and We will inform you of what you used to do.

پھر جب الله انہیں نجات دے دیتا ہے تو ملک میں ناحق شرارت کرنے لگتے ہیں اے لوگو تمہاری شرارت کا وبال تمہاری جانو ں پر ہی پڑے گا دنیا کی زندگی کا نفع اٹھا لو پھر ہمارے ہاں ہی تمہیں لوٹ کر آناہے پھر ہم تمہیں بتلادیں گے جو کچھ تم کیا کرتے تھے

English - Arberry

Nevertheless when He has delivered them behold, they are insolent in the earth, wrongfully. O men, your insolence is only against yourselves; the enjoyment of this present life, then unto Us you shall return, then We shall tell you what you were doing.

English - Maududi

But no sooner than He delivers them than they go about committing excesses on the earth, acting unjustly. Men! The excesses you commit will be of harm only to yourselves, (Enjoy, if you will) the fleeting pleasure of this world; in me end you shall all return to Us, and then We shall tell you what you did.

But when He rescues them, they commit excesses in the land unjustly again. Your rebellion, O people, shall recoil back on your own selves. The joys of the world (are only ephemeral): You have to come back to Us in the end. We shall then inform you what you were doing.
