۞ هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا ۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّىٰهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِۦ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَثْقَلَت دَّعَوَا ٱللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ ءَاتَيْتَنَا صَٰلِحًا لَّنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

He it is Who has created you from a single soul, and made therefrom its mate, that he might find comfort in her. And when he knows her, she bears a light burden, and goes about with it. And when she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah, their Lord, saying: ‘If Thou give us a good child, we will surely be of the thankful.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں ایک جان سے پیدا کیااور اسی سے اس کا جوڑا بنایا تاکہ وہ اس کی طرف تسکین کی خاطر مائل ہو۔ پھر جب اس نے اسے ڈھانپ لیا تو اس نے ایک ہلکا سا بوجھ اٹھا لیا پھر وہ اسے اٹھائے ہوئے چلنے لگی۔ پس جب وہ بوجھل ہو گئی تو ان دونوں نے اپنے ربّ کو پکارا کہ اگر تُو ہمیں ایک صحت مند (بیٹا) عطا کرے تو یقیناً ہم شکر ادا کرنے والوں میں سے ہوں گے۔

French

C’est Lui Qui vous a créés d’un seul être – lafemelle -, et Qui en a tiré son autre moitié, afin qu’il - le mâle - pût trouver la tranquillité en elle. Et quand il l’a couverte, elle a conçu et porté un fardeau léger et s’est déplacée avec. Et quand elle est devenue lourde, ils ont prié tous les deux à Allāh, leur Seigneur : « Si Tu nous donnes un enfant bien portant et vertueux, nous serons assurément du nombre des reconnaissants. »

German

Er ist es, Der euch aus einem einzigen Wesen geschaffen hat, und daraus machte Er seine Gefährtin, damit er Erquickung an ihr fände. Und wenn er sie erkannt hat, dann trägt sie eine leichte Last und geht mit ihr umher. Und wenn sie schwer wird, dann beten beide zu Allah, ihrem Herrn: "Wenn Du uns ein gesundes (Kind) gibst, so werden wir wahrlich unter den Dankbaren sein."

[a]他就是由一个人创造了你们, 并为他创造了他同类的配偶, [b]以便他从她得到舒适。在男女交合后, 女子便轻微怀孕, 带着他 (胎儿) 走动。当她感到体重时, 他俩 (男女) 向安拉--------他们的养主祈求: “如果你赐与我们健全的婴儿, 我们定将成为感恩的人。”

Egli è Colui che vi ha creato da un solo essere e da questi creò la sua compagna, sì che potesse trovare conforto in lei. E quando egli la coprì, essa recò un lieve fardello e lo portò con sé. E quando si appesantì, ambedue pregarono Allah, il loro Signore: «Se Tu ci darai un figlio sano e giusto, noi certamente saremo di quelli che sono grati.»

Spanish

Él es quien os creó de un solo ser e hizo de aquel su compañera, para que encontrara consuelo en ella. Y cuando la ha cubierto, ella concibe y porta una carga ligera con la que camina. Y cuando se hace más pesada, ambos rezan a Al-lah: “Si nos das un hijo sano y bueno, seremos en verdad de los agradecidos”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

وہی ہے جس نے تم کو ایک جان سے پیدا کیا ہے اور اسی کی قسم سے اس کا جوڑا بنایا ہے تا کہ وہ اس کی طرف رغبت کرکے سکون پائے۔ پس جب وہ اسے ڈھانپ لیتا ہے تو وہ خفیف سا بوجھ اٹھا لیتی ہے اور اسے لیے پھرتی ہے پھر جب وہ (کچھ) بوجھل ہو جاتی ہے دونوں (مرد و عورت) اپنے اللہ سے جو ان کا رب ہے دعا کرتے ہیں کہ اگر تو ہم کو ایک تندرست بچہ دے گا تو ہم شکر گذار بندے بن جائیں گے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[d]He it is Who has created you from a single soul and made therefrom its mate, [e]that he might find comfort[1084] in her. And when he knows her, she bears a light burden and goes about with it. And when she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah, their Lord, saying, ‘If Thou give us a good child, we will surely be of the thankful.’

One of the primary objects of marriage is that man and woman should be a source of comfort and solace to each other. Man is social by nature and it is his natural craving for a close companion which is supplied by marriage.

[c]He it is Who has created you from a single soul, and made therefrom its mate, [d]that he might find comfort in her. And when he knows her, she bears a light burden, and goes about with it. And when she grows heavy, they both pray to Allah, their Lord, saying: ‘If Thou give us a good child, we will surely be of the thankful.’[1076]

30:22.

Commentary:

By the words, a single soul, is here meant the father. The verse does not refer to Adam or for that matter to any particular man but speaks of men generally. See also 4:2.

The verse describes one of the objects of marriage, which is that man and woman may be a source of comfort and solace to each other. Man is highly social by nature, and it is his natural craving for a close companion that is supplied by marriage. Without the institution of marriage man, in most cases, would have vainly spent his whole life in search of a true and loyal companion.

وہ اللہ ہی ہے جس نے تمہیں ایک جان سے پیدا کیا اور اسی کی جنس سے اس کا جوڑا بنایا تاکہ اس کے پاس سکون حاصل کرے پھر جب مرد نے عورت کو ڈھانک لیا تو اسے ایک خفیف سا حمل رہ گیا جسے لیے لیے وہ چلتی پھرتی رہی پھر جب وہ بوجھل ہو گئی تو دونوں نے مل کر اللہ، اپنے رب سے دعا کی کہ اگر تو نے ہم کو اچھا سا بچہ دیا تو ہم تیرے شکر گزار ہوں گے

English - Sahih

It is He who created you from one soul and created from it its mate that he might dwell in security with her. And when he covers her, she carries a light burden and continues therein. And when it becomes heavy, they both invoke Allah, their Lord, "If You should give us a good [child], we will surely be among the grateful."

وہ وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں ایک جان سے پیدا کیا اور اسی سے اس کا جوڑ بنایا تاکہ اس سے آرام پائے پھر جب میاں نے بیوی سے ہم بستری کی تو اس کو ہلکا سا حمل رہ گیا پھر اسے لیے پھرتی رہی پھر جب وہ بوجھل ہو گئی تب دونوں میاں بیوی نے الله سے جو ان کا مالک ہے دعا کی اگر آپ نے ہمیں صحیح سالم اولاد دے دی تو ہم ضرور شکر گزار ہوں گے

English - Talal Itani

He (is) the One Who created you from a soul, single and made from it its mate that he might live with her. And when he covers her, she carries a burden light and continues with it. But when she grows heavy, they both invoke Allah, their Lord, "If You give us a righteous (child), surely we will be among the thankful."

It is He who created you out of one living soul, and made of him his spouse that he might rest in her. Then, when he covered her, she bore a light burden and passed by with it; but when it became heavy they cried to God their Lord, 'If Thou givest us a righteous son, we indeed shall be of the thankful.'

English - Maududi

It is He - Allah -Who created you from a single being, and out of it He made its mate, that he may find comfort in her. And when he covers her, she bears a light burden and goes about with it. Then, when she grows heavy, they pray to their Lord: 'If You bestow upon us a healthy child, we will surely give thanks.'

English - Ahmed Ali

It is He who created you from a single cell, and from it created its mate, that you may live as companions. When the man covered the woman she conceived a light burden and carried it about. And when she was heavy (with child) they prayed together to their Lord: "If You bestow a healthy son on us we shall truly be grateful."

It is He Who created you from a single person, and made his mate of like nature, in order that he might dwell with her (in love). When they are united, she bears a light burden and carries it about (unnoticed).
