English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And when We make mankind taste of mercy, they rejoice therein; but if an evil befall them because of that which their own hands have sent on, behold! they are in despair.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
اور جب ہم لوگوں کو کوئی رحمت (کا مزا) چکھاتے ہیں تو اُس پر وہ اِترانے لگتے ہیں اور اگر اُنہیں کوئی برائی پہنچ جائے جو (خود) اُن کے ہاتھوں نے آگے بھیجی ہو تو اچانک وہ مایوس ہو جاتے ہیں۔

Et lorsque Nous faisons les hommes goûter de Notre miséricorde, ils s’en réjouissent ; mais quand un malheur leur survient par suite de ce qu’ils ont acquis de leurs propres mains, voilà qu’ils désespèrent.

Und wenn Wir die Menschen Barmherzigkeit kosten lassen, freuen sie sich ihrer; doch wenn sie ein Übel befällt um dessentwillen, was ihre eigenen Hände vorausgesandt, siehe, dann verzweifeln sie.

Y cuando favorecemos a la humanidad con el sabor de la isericordia, se regocijan; pero cuando les acaece el mal por lo que ellos mismos han ganado con sus manos, he ahí que empiezan a desesperarse.

جب ہم لوگوں سے رحم کا سلوک کرتے ہیں تو وہ اس سے خوش ہو جاتے ہیں اور اگر انہیں اپنے سابقہ اعمال کی وجہ سے کوئی تکلیف پہنچے تو وہ اچانک مایوس ہو جاتے ہیں۔

یقنطون (are in despair) is formed from قنط which means, he despaired. قانط which is active participle from this root means, one who despairs of God’s mercy. The Arabs say قنط ماءہ عنا i.e. he withheld or debarred his water from us. قنوط (infinitive noun) means, complete despair (Lane & Aqrab).

جب ہم لوگوں کو رحمت کا ذائقہ چکھاتے ہیں تو وہ اس پر پھول جاتے ہیں، اور جب ان کے اپنے کیے کرتوتوں سے ان پر کوئی مصیبت آتی ہے تو یکایک وہ مایوس ہونے لگتے ہیں

And when We let the people taste mercy, they rejoice therein, but if evil afflicts them for what their hands have put forth, immediately they despair.

پس اگر وہ منہ پھیر لیں تو ہم نے تجھے اُن پر پاسبان بنا کر نہیں بھیجا۔ تجھ پر پیغام پہنچانے کے سوااور کچھ فرض نہیں اور یقیناً جب ہم اپنی طرف سے انسان کو کوئی رحمت چکھاتے ہیں تو وہ اس سے خوش ہو جاتا ہے اور اگر انہیں خود اپنے ہاتھوں کی بھیجی ہوئی کوئی برائی پہنچتی ہے تو یقیناً انسان سخت ناشکرا ثابت ہوتا ہے۔

Mais s’ils se détournent, Nous ne t’avons pas envoyé vers eux en tant que gardien. Ton devoir est seulement de transmettre clairement le Message. Et en vérité lorsque Nous faisons goûter à l’homme une miséricorde de Notre part, il s’en réjouit. Mais si un malheur leur survient par suite de ce que leurs mains ont envoyé en avant, alors voilà que l’homme est très ingrat !

Kehren sie sich jedoch ab, so haben Wir dich nicht als Wächter über sie entsandt. Deine Pflicht ist nur die Verkündigung. Wenn Wir dem Menschen Unsere Barmherzigkeit zu kosten geben, so freut er sich über sie. Doch wenn sie ein Unheil trifft um dessentwillen, was ihre Hände vorausgesandt, siehe, dann ist der Mensch undankbar.

Ma se voltano le spalle, Noi non ti abbiamo mandato come loro custode. Tuo dovere è solo quello di comunicare il messaggio. E certamente, quando facciamo gustare agli uomini la Nostra misericordia, ne gioiscono. Ma se li colpisce qualche male per quello che le loro stesse mani hanno mandato avanti, allora, ecco, l'uomo diventa ingrato.

Mas si se apartan, no te hemos enviado como guardián de ellos. Tu deber es únicamente el de transmitir el Mensaje. En verdad cuanto, cuando hacemos que el hombre pruebe Nuestra misericordia, se alegra con ella. Pero si les sobreviene el mal por lo que cometieron sus manos ¡he ahí como el hombre se vuelve desagradecido!

پھر بھی اگر وہ اعراض کریں تو (کرتے رہیں) ہم نے تجھے ان پر نگران بنا کر نہیں بھیجا۔ تجھ پر صرف بات کا پہنچا دینا فرض ہے اور جب کبھی ہم انسان کو اپنی طرف سے رحمت پہنچاتے ہیں تو وہ اس پر خوش ہو جاتا ہے اور اگر اس کے کسی عمل کی وجہ سے (ہماری طرف سے) اس کو کوئی تکلیف پہنچے تو انسان ناشکر گذار بن جاتا ہے (اور پہلے تمام فضلوں کا انکار کر دیتا ہے)

اب اگر یہ لوگ منہ موڑتے ہیں تو اے نبیؐ، ہم نے تم کو ان پر نگہبان بنا کر تو نہیں بھیجا ہے تم پر تو صرف بات پہنچا دینے کی ذمہ داری ہے انسان کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب ہم اسے اپنی رحمت کا مزا چکھاتے ہیں تو اُس پر پھول جاتا ہے، اور اگر اس کے اپنے ہاتھوں کا کیا دھرا کسی مصیبت کی شکل میں اُس پر الٹ پڑتا ہے تو سخت ناشکرا بن جاتا ہے

But if they turn away - then We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], over them as a guardian; upon you is only [the duty of] notification. And indeed, when We let man taste mercy from us, he rejoices in it; but if evil afflicts him for what his hands have put forth, then indeed, man is ungrateful.

پھر بھی اگر نہ مانیں تو ہم نے آپ کو ان پر محافظ بنا کرنہیں بھیجا ہے آپ پر تو صرف پہنچا دینا ہے اور جب ہم انسان کو اپنی کوئی رحمت چکھاتے ہیں تو اس سے خوش ہوجاتا ہے اور اگر اس پر اس کے اعمال سے اس سے کوئی مصیبت پڑ جاتی ہے تو انسان بڑا ہی ناشکرا ہے
