Then We cast him on a bare tract of land, and he was sick;

پس ہم نے اسے ایک کھلے میدان میں اچھال پھینکا جبکہ وہ سخت بیمار تھا۔

پھر ہم نے اس کو ایک کھلے میدان میں پھینک[3] دیا‘ جبکہ وہ بیمار تھا۔

یعنی مچھلی کے دل میں تحریک کی کہ وہ قے کرکے اس کو میدان میں پھینک دے۔

Then We cast him on a bare tract of land, and he was sick;

Important Words:

عراء (bare tract of land) is derived from عری which means, he was or became naked, bare or without clothing. They say عری من العیب i.e. he was or became free from fault, defector blemish. عراء means, a wide or spacious place or tract of land in which nothing is hidden; or the vacant surface of the earth or land or of a wide space of land (Lane).

آخرکار ہم نے اسے بڑی سقیم حالت میں ایک چٹیل زمین پر پھینک دیا

But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill.

اگر اس کے ربّ کی طرف سے ایک خاص نعمت اسے بچا نہ لیتی تو وہ چٹیل میدان میں اس طرح پھینک دیا جاتا کہ وہ سخت ملامت زدہ ہوتا۔

اگر اس کے رب کی نعمت اس کی تکلیف کا تدارک نہ کرتی تو اس کو ایک بے آب و گیاہ جنگل میں پھینک دیا جاتا اور وہ ہدف ملامت بن جاتا۔

37:144-146.
