اَمۡ لَہُمۡ سُلَّمٌ یَّسۡتَمِعُوۡنَ فِیۡہِ ۖ فَلۡیَاۡتِ مُسۡتَمِعُہُمۡ بِسُلۡطٰنٍ مُّبِیۡنٍ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Have they a ladder unto heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listener bring a manifest authority.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

کیا ان کے پاس کوئی سیڑھی ہے جس میں وہ (چڑھ کر ) باتیں سنتے ہیں؟ پس چاہئے کہ ان میں سے سننے والا کوئی غالب روشن دلیل تو لائے۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

کیا ان کے پاس کوئی سیڑھی ہے جس پر چڑھ کر وہ (خدا کی باتیں) سنتے ہیں پس چاہیے کہ ان کا سننے والا (محمد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی طرح) کوئی کھلی دلیل پیش کرے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Have they a ladder by means of which they can ascend into heaven[2862] and overhear the Divine words? Then let their listener bring a manifest proof.

If disbelievers have access to the secrets of the heavens, then let them produce proofs for the allegation that the Holy Prophet is not the appointed Messenger of God.

Have they a ladder by means of which they can ascend into heaven and overhear? Then let their listener bring a manifest authority.[3956]

Commentary:

In these verses (vv. 30-44) untenability and futility of their position in rejecting the Holy Prophet has been brought home to disbelievers. The present verse further tells them that if they claim to have access to the secrets of the heavens, then let them produce authority for the allegation that the Holy Prophet is not the appointed Messenger of God.

کیا اِن کے پاس کوئی سیڑھی ہے جس پر چڑھ کر یہ عالم بالا کی سن گن لیتے ہیں؟ اِن میں سے جس نے سن گن لی ہو وہ لائے کوئی کھلی دلیل

Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority.
