لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِیۡبٌ مِّمَّا تَرَکَ الۡوٰلِدَانِ وَالۡاَقۡرَبُوۡنَ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِیۡبٌ مِّمَّا تَرَکَ الۡوٰلِدَانِ وَالۡاَقۡرَبُوۡنَ مِمَّا قَلَّ مِنۡہُ اَوۡ کَثُرَ ۚ نَصِیۡبًا مَّفۡرُوۡضًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

For men is a share of that which parents and near relations leave; and for women is a share of that which parents and near relations leave, whether it be little or much — a determined share.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

مَردوں کےلئے اس ترکہ میں سے ایک حصّہ ہے جو والدین اور اقرباءنے چھوڑا۔ اور عورتوں کےلئے بھی اس ترکہ میں ایک حصّہ ہے جو والدین اور اقرباءنے چھوڑا۔ خواہ وہ تھوڑا ہو یا زیادہ۔ (یہ ایک) فرض کیا گیا حصّہ (ہے)۔

Pour les hommes il y a une part de ce que laissent les parents et les proches parents, et pour les femmes il y a une part de ce que laissent les parents et les proches parents, que ce soit peu ou beaucoup – une part déterminée.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور مردوں کا (بھی) اور عورتوں کا بھی اس (مال) میں سے جو ان کے ماں باپ اور قریبی رشتہ دار چھوڑ جائیں ایک حصہ ہے۔ خواہ اس (ترکہ) میں سے تھوڑا بچا ہو یا بہت (یہ) ایک معین حصہ ہے جو (خداتعالیٰ کی طرف سے) مقرر کیا گیا ہے۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[a]For men is a share of that which parents and near relations leave; and for women is a share of that which parents and near relations leave, whether it be little or much—a determined share.[570]

4:34.

This verse forms the basis of the Islamic Law of Inheritance. It lays down the general principle of the social equality of man and woman. Both are entitled to a suitable share in the property. Detailed rules are given in the verses that follow.

[a]For men is a share of that which parents and near relations leave; and for women is a share of that which parents and near relations leave, whether it be little or much—a determined share.[490]

4:34.

Commentary:

This verse, without giving the details, forms the basis of the Islamic law of inheritance. Detailed rules are given in the succeeding verses. The verse lays down the general principle of the social equality of man and woman. Both are entitled to a suitable share in the property.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

مردوں کے لیے اُس مال میں حصہ ہے جو ماں باپ اور رشتہ داروں نے چھوڑا ہو، اور عورتوں کے لیے بھی اُس مال میں حصہ ہے جو ماں باپ اور رشتہ داروں نے چھوڑا ہو، خواہ تھوڑا ہو یا بہت، اور یہ حصہ (اللہ کی طرف سے) مقرر ہے

English - Sahih

For men is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, and for women is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, be it little or much - an obligatory share.

مردوں کا اس مال میں حصہ ہے جو ماں باپ اور رشتہ داروں نے چھوڑا ہو اور عورتوں کا بھی اس مال میں حصہ ہے جو ماں باپ اور رشتہ دارو ں نے چھوڑا ہو تھوڑا ہو یہ بہت یہ حصہ مقرر ہے

English - Talal Itani

For the men a portion of what (is) left (by) the parents, and the near relatives and for the women a portion of what (is) left (by) parents and the near relatives of what (is) little of it or much - a portion obligatory.

To the men a share of what parents and kinsmen leave, and to the women a share of what parents and kinsmen leave, whether it be little or much, a share apportioned;

Just as there is a share for men in what their parents and kinsfolk leave behind, so there is a share for women in what their parents and kinsfolk leave behind - be it little or much - a share ordained (by Allah).

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(اس شیطان کو) جسے اللہ نے (اپنی جناب سے) دور کر دیا ہے اور (جس نے یہ) کہا تھا کہ میں تیرے بندوں سے ضرور ہی ایک مقررہ حصہ لوں گا۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Whom Allah has cursed. He said, [d]‘I will assuredly take a fixed portion from Thy servants;

14:23; 17:65.

Whom Allah has cursed. And he said, [a]‘I will assuredly take a fixed portion from Thy servants;[585]

14:23; 17:65.

Commentary:

The opening part of the verse refers to Satan as mentioned in the preceding verse. When cursed by God, he vowed to mislead men; but he can lead astray only a "fixed portion" of them, i.e. those who themselves choose to accept his lead. The words "fixed portion" thus mean portion determined under the eternal laws of God.

جس کو اللہ نے لعنت زدہ کیا ہے (وہ اُس شیطان کی اطاعت کر رہے ہیں) جس نے اللہ سے کہا تھا کہ "میں تیرے بندوں سے ایک مقرر حصہ لے کر رہوں گا

Whom Allah has cursed. For he had said, "I will surely take from among Your servants a specific portion.
