29:11
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِىَ فِى ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِى صُدُورِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And of men there are some who say, ‘We believe in Allah,’ but when they are made to suffer in the cause of Allah, they regard the persecution of men to be like the punishment of Allah. And if help comes from thy Lord, they are sure to say, ‘Certainly, we were with you.’ Is not Allah best aware of what is in the bosom of His creatures?

اور لوگوں میں سے ایسے بھی ہیں جو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ پر ایمان لے آئے۔ مگر جب اُنہیں اللہ کی راہ میں تکلیف دی جاتی ہے تو وہ لوگوں کی آزمائش کو اللہ کے عذاب کی طرح بنا لیتے ہیں۔ اور اگر تیرے ربّ کی طرف سے کوئی مدد آئی تو وہ ضرور کہیں گے کہ ہم تو یقیناً تم لوگوں کے ساتھ تھے۔ کیا اللہ سب سے بڑھ کر اسے نہیں جانتا جو تمام جہانوں (میں بسنے والوں) کے دلوں میں ہے۔
French
Et parmi les hommes il y en a qui disent : « Nous croyons en Allāh, » mais quand on les fait souffrir pour la cause d’Allāh, ils considèrent la persécution des hommes comme si c’était le châtiment d’Allāh. Et s’il vient du secours de la part de ton Seigneur, ils sont sûrs de dire : « Certainement, nous étions avec vous. » Allāh n’est-Il pas le meilleur à savoir ce qui se trouve dans le sein de tout le monde ?

Unter den Menschen sind manche, die sprechen: "Wir glauben an Allah", doch wenn sie für Allahs Sache leiden müssen, so betrachten sie die Anfeindung durch Menschen gleich der Strafe Allahs. Kommt aber Hilfe von deinem Herrn, dann sprechen sie gewiss: "Wahrlich, wir waren mit euch." Weiß Allah nicht am besten, was in den Herzen aller Geschöpfe ist?

E fra gli uomini ve ne sono alcuni che dicono: «Crediamo in Allah.» Ma quando devono soffrire per la causa di Allah, considerano la persecuzione degli uomini come un castigo di Allah. E se l'aiuto proviene loro dal tuo Signore, allora dicono: «Per certo, noi eravamo con voi.» Allah non è forse perfettamente cosciente di ciò che si trova nei cuori di tutti?

Entre los hombres hay algunos que dicen: “Creemos en Al‑lah” ; pero cuando se les hace sufrir por la causa de Al‑lah, consideran que la persecución de los hombres es como el castigo de Al‑lah. Y si les llega la ayuda de tu Señor, dirán ciertamente, “En verdad estábamos con vosotros.” ¿Acaso Al‑lah no sabe mejor que nadie lo que hay en el corazón de toda la gente?.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
اور لوگوں میں سے (بعض ایسے بھی ہوتے ہیں) جو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ پر ایمان لے آئے ہیں پھر جب اللہ کی وجہ سے ان کو تکلیف دی جاتی ہے وہ لوگوں کے عذاب کو اللہ کے عذاب کی طرح سمجھ لیتے ہیں اور اگر تیرے رب کی طرف سے مدد آتی ہے تو وہ کہتے ہیں (درحقیقت) ہم بھی تمہارے ساتھ تھے کیا دنیا جہان کے لوگوں کے دلوں میں جو کچھ ہے اس کو اللہ اچھی طرح نہیں جانتا۔

On the other hand, they are always on the lookout to claim comradeship with believers when they see that Divine help is coming to them (believers) and the cause of Truth is gaining ground.

On the other hand they are always on the lookout to claim comradeship with believers when they see that Divine help is coming to them (believers) and the cause of truth is gaining ground.

لوگوں میں سے کوئی ایسا ہے جو کہتا ہے کہ ہم ایمان لائے اللہ پر مگر جب وہ اللہ کے معاملہ میں ستایا گیا تو اس نے لوگوں کی ڈالی ہوئی آزمائش کو اللہ کے عذاب کی طرح سمجھ لیا اب اگر تیرے رب کی طرف سے فتح و نصرت آ گئی تو یہی شخص کہے گا کہ "ہم تو تمہارے ساتھ تھے" کیا دنیا والوں کے دلوں کا حال اللہ کو بخوبی معلوم نہیں ہے؟
English - Sahih
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures?

اورکچھ ایسے لوگ بھی ہیں جو کہتے ہیں ہم الله پر ایمان لائے پھر جب انہیں الله کی راہ میں کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے لوگوں کی تکلیف کو الله کے عذاب کے برابر سمجھتے ہیں اور اگر تیرے رب کی طرف سے مدد پہنچے تو کہتے ہیں ہم تو تمہارے ساتھ تھے اور کیا الله جہان والوں کے دلوں کی باتوں سے اچھی طرح واقف نہیں ہے

And of the people (is he) who says, "We believe in Allah." But when he is harmed in (the Way of) Allah he considers (the) trial (of) the people as (the) punishment (of) Allah. English - Arberry
Some men there are who say, 'We believe in God,' but when such a man is hurt in God's cause, he makes the persecution of men as it were God's chastisement; then if help comes from thy Lord, he will say 'We were with you.' What, does not God know very well what is in the breasts of all beings?
English - Maududi
Among people there are some who say: “We believe in Allah.” But when such a person is made to endure suffering in Allah's cause, he reckons the persecution he suffers at the hands of people as though it is a chastisement from Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, the same person will say “We were with you.” Does Allah not know whatever is in the hearts of the people of the world?
