English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
Those who wait for news concerning you. If you have a victory from Allah, they say, ‘Were we not with you?’ And if the disbelievers have a share of it, they say to them, ‘Did we not get the better of you, and protect you against the believers?’ Allah will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection; and Allah will not grant the disbelievers a way to prevail against the believers.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
(یعنی) اُن لوگوں کو جو تمہارے متعلق (بُری خبروں کا) انتظار کر رہے ہیں۔ پس اگر تمہیں اللہ کی طرف سے فتح نصیب ہو تو کہیں گے کیا ہم تمہارے ساتھ نہیں تھے؟ اور اگرکافروں کو (فتح میں سے) کچھ نصیب ہو تو (ان سے) کہتے ہیں کیا ہم نے تم پر (پہلے) غلبہ نہیں پایا تھا اور تمہیں مومنوں سے بچایا نہیں؟۔ پس اللہ ہی قیامت کے دن تمہارے درمیان فیصلہ کرے گا۔ اور اللہ کافروں کو مومنوں پر کوئی اختیار نہیں دے گا۔
French
Ceux qui attendent de recevoir de mauvaises nouvelles vous concernant. Si Allāh vous accorde une victoire, ils disent : « N’étions-nous pas avec vous ? » Et si les mécréants remportent une part dans la victoire, ils leur disent : « N’avions-nous pas obtenu l’avantage sur vous, et ne vous avions-nous pas protégés contre les croyants ? » Allāh jugera entre vous au Jour de la Résurrection ; et Allāh n’accordera pas aux mécréants de moyen de prévaloir sur les croyants.
German
die (auf Nachrichten) über euch harren. Wenn euch ein Sieg von Allah beschieden wird, sagen sie: "Waren wir nicht mit euch?" Haben aber die Ungläubigen Erfolg, sagen sie: "Haben wir nicht Überhand bekommen über euch und euch vor den Gläubigen beschützt?" Also wird Allah richten zwischen euch am Tage der Auferstehung; und Allah wird niemals die Ungläubigen obsiegen lassen über die Gläubigen.

[a]那些伪信者期待着你们的毁灭, 假如安拉恩赐你们 (信者) 胜利, 他们就 (对你们) 说: “我们不曾与你们在一起吗?” 要是不信者获得了局部 (胜利), 那么, 他们 (伪信者) 向他们 (不信者) 说: “我们不曾胜过你们 (不信者), 且从信的人解救了你们吗?” 复生之日, 安拉将在你们之间进行判断。安拉绝不使不信者胜过信仰者。

coloro che sono in attesa di notizie su di voi. Se Allah vi concede una vittoria, dicono: «Non eravamo con voi?» E quando ne hanno una parte i miscredenti, dicono loro: «Non abbiamo avuto la meglio su di voi e non vi abbiamo protetti dai credenti?» Allah giudicherà fra voi nel Giorno della risurrezione, e Allah non permetterà che i miscredenti abbiano il sopravvento sui credenti.

Aquellos que esperan noticias acerca de vosotros. Si obtenéis una victoria procedente de Al-lah, dicen: “¿No estábamos acaso on vosotros?”. Y si los incrédulos participan en ella, les dicen: “¿No recogimos lo mejor de vosotros y os protegimos contra los creyentes?”. Al-lah juzgará entre vosotros en el Día de la Resurrección; y Al-lah no concederá a los incrédulos ningún medio para prevalecer contra los creyentes.
اردو تفسیرِ صغیر
(ان منافقوں کو) جو تمہارے متعلق تباہی کی انتظار میں رہتے ہیں اور اگر تمہیں اللہ کی طرف سے کوئی فتح (حاصل) ہو تو (تم سے) کہتے ہیں کہ کیا ہم تمہارے ساتھ نہ تھے اور اگر کافروں کو (فتح کا) کوئی حصہ ملے تو (ان سے) کہتے ہیں کہ کیا ہم تم پر غالب نہیں آگئے [1]تھے اور (ہم نے) تمہیں مومنوں سے (نہیں) بچایا تھا۔ پس اللہ تمہارے درمیان قیامت کے دن فیصلہ کرے گا۔ اور اللہ کافروں کو مومنوں پر ہرگز غلبہ نہیں دے گا۔
یعنی اس سے پہلے ایک موقع پر کیا مسلمان غالب نہیں آگئے تھے۔ جو ہماری ہی فتح تھی۔ مگر ہم نے ان سے سفارشیں کرکے تم کو بچا لیا۔
English - Short Commentary Translation
[b]Those who await your ruin. If you have a victory from Allah, they say, ‘Were we not with you?’ And if the disbelievers have a share of it, they say to them, ‘Did we not on a previous occasion get the better of you and save you from the believers?’ Allah will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection; and Allah will not grant the disbelievers a way to prevail against the believers.

Important Words:
نستحوذ علیکم (get the better of you). نستحوذ is derived from حاذ. They say حاذہ i.e. he guarded or protected it and took care of it. حاذ الابل means, he drove the camels quickly or he gained mastery over the camels and collected them together. استحوذ علیهmeans, he overcame or mastered or gained mastery of him or it; he got the better of him or it (Taj).
نمنعکم (protected you) is derived from منع i.e. (1) he prevented or hindered: (2) he denied or refused (3) he protected or guarded (Lane).
Commentary:
The words, did we not get the better of you, are addressed by the hypocrites to the disbelievers and mean "we had you in our power but we spared you". Similarly, the words, and protect you against the believers, may be interpreted something like this: "We separated ourselves from the Muslims with the result that they became weak and you were thus saved from them." Or the words may mean, "some of the faint-hearted among you wished to make peace with the Muslims, but we prevented them from doing so, and now the result is that you are victorious." In the latter case the clause نمنعکم من المؤمنینwould be translated as "we prevented you from making peace with the believers".
The last sentence of the verse means that the hypocrites will never be able to bring a valid objection against Muslims.

یہ منافق تمہارے معاملہ میں انتظار کر رہے ہیں (کہ اونٹ کس کروٹ بیٹھتا ہے) اگر اللہ کی طرف سے فتح تمہاری ہوئی تو آ کر کہیں گے کہ کیا ہم تمہارے ساتھ نہ تھے؟ ا گر کافروں کا پلہ بھاری رہا تو اُن سے کہیں گے کہ کیا ہم تمہارے خلاف لڑنے پر قادر نہ تھے اور پھر بھی ہم نے تم کو مسلمانوں سے بچایا؟ بس اللہ ہی تمہارے اور ان کے معاملہ کا فیصلہ قیامت کے روز کرے گا اور (اس فیصلہ میں) اللہ نے کافروں کے لیے مسلمانوں پر غالب آنے کی ہرگز کوئی سبیل نہیں رکھی ہے

Those who wait [and watch] you. Then if you gain a victory from Allah, they say, "Were we not with you?" But if the disbelievers have a success, they say [to them], "Did we not gain the advantage over you, but we protected you from the believers?" Allah will judge between [all of] you on the Day of Resurrection, and never will Allah give the disbelievers over the believers a way [to overcome them].

وہ منافق جو تمہارے متعلق انتظار کرتے ہیں پھر اگر تمہیں الله کی طرف سے فتح ہو تو کہتے ہیں کیا ہم تمہارے ساتھ نہ تھےاور اگر کافرو ں کو کچھ حصہ مل جائے تو کہتے ہیں کیا ہم تم پر غالب نہ آنے لگے تھے اور کیا ہم نے تمہیں مسلمانوں سے بچا نہیں لیا سو الله تمہارا اور ان کا قیامت میں فیصلہ کرے گا اور (وہاں) الله کافروں کو مسلمانوں کے مقابلہ میں ہرگز غالب نہیں کرے گا

Those who are waiting for you. Then if was for you a victory from Allah they say, "Were not we with you?" But if (there) was for the disbelievers a chance they said, "Did not we have advantage over you and we protected you from the believers?" And Allah will judge between you (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection, and never will make Allah for the disbelievers over the believers a way.

Ils leur crieront, « N’étions-nous pas avec vous ? » Ils répondront : « Si ! mais vous vous êtes laissés aller à la tentation et vous avez hésité et douté, et vos vains désirs vous ont trompés jusqu’à ce que vînt le décret d’Allāh. Et le Trompeur vous a trompés à l’égard d’Allāh.

Ellos los invocarán, diciendo: “¿Acaso no estábamos con vosotros?”. Responderán: “Sí, pero os dejasteis llevar por la tentación, os demorasteis y dudasteis y vuestros vanos deseos os engañaron hasta que se cumplió el designio de Al-lah. Y el Engañador os confundió respecto a Al-lah.

The hypocrites will call out to believers saying, ‘Were we not with you?’ The believers will answer, ‘Yea, but you let yourselves fall into temptation and you hesitated and doubted and your vain desires deceived you till the decree of Allah[2994] came to pass. And the deceiver deceived you concerning Allah.

Commentary:
أمر اللّٰه (decree of Allah) means the decree of Allah that Divine punishment will overtake the hypocrites. The reference may be to the punishment of the Jewish tribes of Medina for their repeated defection and treachery.

وہ مومنوں سے پکار پکار کر کہیں گے کیا ہم تمہارے ساتھ نہ تھے؟ مومن جواب دیں گے ہاں، مگر تم نے اپنے آپ کو خود فتنے میں ڈالا، موقع پرستی کی، شک میں پڑے رہے، اور جھوٹی توقعات تمہیں فریب دیتی رہیں، یہاں تک کہ اللہ کا فیصلہ آ گیا، اور آخر وقت تک وہ بڑا دھوکے باز تمہیں اللہ کے معاملہ میں دھوکا دیتا رہا

The hypocrites will call to the believers, "Were we not with you?" They will say, "Yes, but you afflicted yourselves and awaited [misfortune for us] and doubted, and wishful thinking deluded you until there came the command of Allah. And the Deceiver deceived you concerning Allah.
