Say, ‘In Whose hand is the dominion over all things and Who protects, but against Whom there is not protection, if you know?’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

تُو پوچھ کہ وہ کون ہے جس کے ہاتھ میں ہر چیز کی بادشاہت ہے اور وہ پناہ دیتا ہے لیکن اس کے مقابلہ میں پناہ نہیں دی جاتی؟ (بتاؤ) اگر تم جانتے ہو۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(نیز) تو کہہ دے کہ کس کے قبضہ میں ہر چیز کی بادشاہت ہے اور وہ (سب کو) پناہ دیتا ہے‘ ہاں اس کے عذاب کے خلاف کوئی دوسرا پناہ نہیں دے سکتا۔ اگر تم جانتے ہو (تو اس کو سمجھ سکتے ہو)

Say, [a]‘In Whose hand is the dominion over all things and Who protects, but against Whom there is not protection, if you know?’[2570]

Important Words:

ملکوت (dominion) is derived from ملک (malaka). They say ملک الشیء i.e. he possessed the thing and had complete control over it. ملک علی القوم means, he became the ruler of the people. ملک المرأة means, he married the woman or became her husband. ملکوت means, great kingdom; honour; complete control; argument (Lane & Aqrab). See also 1:4 and 6:76.

یجیر (He grants protection) is derived from جار which is further derived from أجارہ which means, he pursued a wrong course; he acted unjustly. أجارہ means, he protected him; granted him refuge; he delivered him from evil; he aided or assisted him; he rescued him. استجارہmeans, he sought his protection. ھو یجیر ولا یجار means, He grants protection but protection cannot be had against Him or against His will (Lane & Aqrab).

اِن سے کہو، بتاؤ اگر تم جانتے ہو کہ ہر چیز پر اقتدار کس کا ہے؟ اور کون ہے وہ جو پناہ دیتا ہے اور اس کے مقابلے میں کوئی پناہ نہیں دے سکتا؟

English - Sahih

Say, "In whose hand is the realm of all things - and He protects while none can protect against Him - if you should know?"

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

تو کہہ دے‘ مجھے بتاؤ تو سہی کہ اگر اللہ مجھے اور میرے ساتھیوں کو ہلاک کر دے یا ہم پر رحم کر دے تو بھی کافروں[1] کو دردناک عذاب سے کون پناہ[2] دے گا۔

یعنی ہمارے مرنے کے بعد بھی کافروں پر عذاب آیا‘ تو ہمارے مرنے سے ان کو کیا فائدہ ہوگا۔

ایک روسی پروفیسر جو اٹامک تجربوں پر مقرر تھا مجھے ملنے آیا تو میں نے اس سے یہی سوال کیا کہ امریکہ نے بھی بم بنائے اور تم نے بھی بنائے اس سے دونوں قوموں کو کیا فائدہ پہنچا۔ اگر امریکہ نے روس تباہ کر دیا یا روس نے امریکہ‘ تو اس سے دونوں قوموں کو کیا خوشی ہوگی؟ اس نے یہی جواب دیا کہ ہم کوشش کر رہے ہیں کہ بم استعمال نہ ہوں اور کچھ نہیں کر سکتے۔
