قَالُوۡۤا اَجِئۡتَنَا لِتَاۡفِکَنَا عَنۡ اٰلِہَتِنَا فَاۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَاۤ اِنۡ کُنۡتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِیۡنَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

They said, ‘Hast thou come to us to turn us away from our gods? Bring us then that with which thou dost threaten us, if indeed thou art of the truthful.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

انہوں نے کہا کیا تُو ہمارے پاس اس لئے آیا ہے کہ ہمیں اپنے معبودوں سے پھرا دے۔ پس اُسے لے آ جس کا تو ہمیں ڈراوا دیتا ہے اگر تُو سچوں میں سے ہے۔

Ils dirent : « Es-tu venu auprès de nous pour nous détourner de nos dieux ? Apporte-nous donc ce dont tu nous menaces, si tu es vraiment des véridiques. »

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

ان لوگوں نے کہا کیا تو ہمارے پاس اس لئے آیا ہے کہ ہمیں اپنے معبودوں سے ہٹا دے اگر اسی طرح ہے تو اپنے سچا ہونے کی صورت میں جس چیز کا تو ہم سے وعدہ کرتا ہے اسے ہمارے پاس لے آ۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

They said, ‘Hast thou come to us to turn us away from our gods? Bring us then that with which thou dost threaten us, if, indeed, thou art of the [b]truthful.’

They said, ‘Hast thou come to us to turn us away from our gods? Bring us then that with which thou dost threaten us, if indeed thou art of the truthful.’[a] [3776]

Important Words:

لتأفکنا (that thou turn us away) is derived from أفک (afaka). أفکه means, he changed his or its condition or manner of being; he turned him or it away or back from a thing by lying; he perverted his judgement; he deceived or beguiled him; he lied or said what was untrue (Lane & Aqrab). Almost all these meanings are applicable here.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

انہوں نے کہا "کیا تو اِس لیے آیا ہے کہ ہمیں بہکا کر ہمارے معبودوں سے برگشتہ کر دے؟ اچھا تو لے آ اپنا وہ عذاب جس سے تو ہمیں ڈراتا ہے اگر واقعی تو سچا ہے"

English - Sahih

They said, "Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."

انہوں نے کہا کیا تو ہمارے پاس اس لیے آیا ہے کہ تو ہمیں ہمارے معبودوں سے بہکا دے پس ہم پردہ (عذاب) لے آ جس کا تو ہم سے وعدہ کرتا ہے اگر تو سچا ہے
