ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَعَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَنزَلَ جُنُودًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا وَعَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Then Allah sent down His peace upon His Messenger and upon the believers, and He sent down hosts which you did not see, and He punished those who disbelieved. And this is the reward of the disbelievers.

پھر اللہ نے اپنے رسول اور مومنوں پر اپنی سکینت نازل کی اور ایسے لشکر اتارے جنہیں تم دیکھ نہیں سکتے تھے اور اس نے ان لوگوں کو عذاب دیا جنہوں نے کفر کیا تھا اور کافروں کی ایسی ہی جزا ہوا کرتی ہے۔

French

Alors, Allāh fit descendre Sa tranquillité sur Son Messager et sur les croyants, et Il fit descendre des troupes que vous n’avez pas vues ; et Il châtia ceux qui n’avaient pas cru. Voilà donc la récompense des mécréants.

German

Dann senkte Allah Seinen Frieden auf Seinen Gesandten und die Gläubigen und sandte Heerscharen hernieder, die ihr nicht sahet, und strafte jene, die ungläubig waren. Das ist der Lohn der Ungläubigen.

之后, [a]安拉自己赐与了他的使者和信者安宁, 降下了你们所看不到的军队, 并惩罚了不信的人。这就是不信者的回报。

Allora Allah fece scendere la tranquillità sul Suo messaggero e sui credenti, e fece scendere eserciti che voi non vedeste e punì i miscredenti. E questa è la ricompensa per gli infedeli.

Entonces Al-lah hizo que la tranquilidad descendiera sobre Su Mensajero y sobre los creyentes, y envió huestes que vosotros no visteis y castigó a los incrédulos. Pues ésta es la recompensa de los incrédulos.

اور اللہ نے اپنی سکینت اپنے رسول اور مومنوں پر اتاری اور ایسے لشکر اتارے جن کو تم نہیں دیکھ رہے تھے اور کفار کو عذاب دیا اور کفار کی یہی جزا ہے۔

Then [a]Allah sent down His peace upon His Messenger and upon the believers, and He sent down hosts which you did not see, and He punished those who disbelieved. And this is the reward of the disbelievers

Commentary:

It was only to the Holy Prophet and true believers that God vouchsafed peace and tranquillity. Thus those weak of faith became distinct from true believers; and God soon sent down His special aid and the disbelievers were routed and suitably punished.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

پھر اللہ نے اپنی سکینت اپنے رسول پر اور مومنین پر نازل فرمائی اور وہ لشکر اتارے جو تم کو نظر نہ آتے تھے اور منکرین حق کو سزا دی کہ یہی بدلہ ہے اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو حق کا انکار کریں

Then Allah sent down His tranquillity upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down soldiers angels whom you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense of the disbelievers.

پھر الله نے اپنی طرف سے اپنے رسول پر اور ایمان والوں پر تسکین نازل فرمائی اور وہ فوجیں اتاریں کہ جنہیں تم نے نہیں دیکھا اور کافروں کو عذاب دیا اور کافروں کو یہی سزا ہے

اور اگر اللہ نے اُن کےلئے جلاوطنی مقدّر نہ کر رکھی ہوتی تو انہیں اسی دنیا میں عذاب دیتا جبکہ آخرت میں اُن کےلئے (بہرحال) آگ کا عذاب (مقدر) ہے۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور اگر اللہ نے ان پر جلا وطنی[3] فرض نہ کر رکھی ہوتی تو ان کو اس دنیا میں بھی عذاب دیتا اور آخرت میں ان کے لئے دوزخ کا عذاب مقرر ہے۔

بائبل میں ذکر ہے کہ یہود ایک موقعہ پر جلا وطن بھی کیے جائیں گے۔ (یسعیاہ باب۲۳ آیت۱۷۔ ۱۸)

English - Short Commentary Translation

And had it not been that Allah had decreed exile for them, He would have, surely, punished them otherwise in this world.[3019] And in the Hereafter they will, certainly, have the punishment of the Fire.

The exile of the Banu Nadir from Medina was a very light punishment. They deserved a much heavier punishment, and had they not been exiled they would have been severely punished in some other way.

English - Five Volume Translation

And had it not been that Allah had decreed exile for them, He would have surely punished them otherwise in this world. And in the Hereafter they will certainly have the punishment of the Fire.[4191]

Important Words:

الجلاء (the banishment) is derived from جلا (jala). They say جلا عن بلدہ i.e. he migrated from his home. جلا عنه الھم means, he removed the grief from him or banished him. أجلاہ means he exiled (Lane & Aqrab).

Commentary:

The verse means that by their persistent evil designs and treachery the Jews of Medina, particularly the Banu Nadir, had incurred God’s wrath. Their exile from Medina was a very light punishment. They had deserved a much heavier punishment, and had they not been exiled they would have been severely punished in some other form.

اگر اللہ نے اُن کے حق میں جلا وطنی نہ لکھ دی ہوتی تو دنیا ہی میں وہ انہیں عذاب دے ڈالتا، اور آخرت میں تو ان کے لیے دوزخ کا عذاب ہے ہی

And if not that Allah had decreed for them evacuation, He would have punished them in [this] world, and for them in the Hereafter is the punishment of the Fire.

Had God not prescribed dispersal for them, He would have chastised them in this world; and there awaits them in the world to come the chastisement of the Fire.

If Allah had not decreed banishment for them, He would certainly have chastised them in this world. As for the Hereafter, the chastisement of the Fire awaits them.
