وَلِلّٰہِ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ ۚ وَکَانَ اللّٰہُ بِکُلِّ شَیۡءٍ مُّحِیۡطًا
مُحِیْط کے معنے گھیرنے والے کے ہیں لیکن اس جگہ اس کے معنے کامل علم کے ہیں اور وہی معنے ہم نے کیے ہیں۔ اقرب الموارد میں ہے: اَحَاطَ بِہٖ عِلْمًا اَیْ اَحْدَقَ عِلْمُہٗ بِہٖ مِنْ جَمِیْعِ جِھَاتِہٖ وَعَرَفَہٗ یعنی اَحَاطَ کے معنے کسی چیز کا کامل علم رکھنے کے بھی ہوتے ہیں۔

Commentary:
The word محیط (One Who encompasses) signifies two things: (1) that God encompasses everything with His knowledge; and (2) that He encompasses all with His power. There is nothing that He does not know and nothing that He does not hold in His power.
