English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

True believers are only those whose hearts tremble when the name of Allah is mentioned, and when His Signs are recited to them they increase their faith, and who put their trust in their Lord,

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

مومن صرف وہی ہیں کہ جب اللہ کا ذکر کیا جاتا ہے تو ان کے دل ڈر جاتے ہیں اور جب ان پر اُس کی آیات پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو وہ ان کو ایمان میں بڑھا دیتی ہیں اور وہ اپنے ربّ پر ہی توکل کرتے ہیں۔

French

Seuls sont de vrais croyants ceux dont le cœur tremble lorsque le nom d’Allāh est mentionné ; et lorsque Ses Signes leur sont récités, cela augmente leur foi ; et qui se fient totalement à leur Seigneur.

Sólo son verdaderos creyentes aquellos cuyos corazones se estremecen cuando se menciona el nombre de Al-lah, que aumentan su fe cuando se les recitan Sus Signos y ponen su confianza en su Señor.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

مومن تو صرف وہی ہیں کہ جب (ان کے سامنے) اللہ کا ذکر کیا جائے تو ان کے دل ڈر جائیں اور جب ان کے سامنے اس کی آیات پڑھی جائیں تو وہ ان کے ایمان کو بڑھا دیں۔ نیز (مومن وہ ہیں) جو اپنے رب پر توکل کرتے ہیں۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

[c]They only are the true believers whose hearts tremble when the name of Allah is mentioned, and [d]when His Signs are recited to them they increase their faith, and who put their trust in their Lord,

22:36.

English - Five Volume Translation

[a]True believers are only those whose hearts tremble [b]when the name of Allah is mentioned, and when His Signs are recited to them, have their faith increased thereby, and who put their trust in their Lord,[1093]

Commentary:

The preceding verse ended with the words, if you are believers, and the present fittingly describes a sure sign of true belief necessary for the fulfilment of the promise of victory contained in the previous verse. If a person claims to be a believer in God, but in practical life the name of God means nothing to him and quickens no chords in his heart, his belief is not a true one. Belief should be something real and living.

سچّے اہل ایمان تو وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دل اللہ کا ذکر سُن کر لرز جاتے ہیں اور جب اللہ کی آیات ان کے سامنے پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو ان کا ایمان بڑھ جاتا ہے اور وہ اپنے رب پر اعتماد رکھتے ہیں

The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely -

ان لوگوں کو کہ جب اللہ کا ذکر بلند کیا جاتا ہے تو ان کے دل مرعوب ہو جاتے ہیں اور جو اس تکلیف پر جو انہیں پہنچی ہو صبر کرنے والے ہیں اور نماز کو قائم کرنے والے ہیں اور جو کچھ ہم نے انہیں عطا کیا ہے اس میں سے خرچ کرتے ہیں۔

Dont les cœurs s’emplissent de crainte lorsque Allāh est mentionné et qui endurent avec patience tout ce qui leur arrive, et qui observent la Prière, et dépensent de ces dons et richesses que Nous leur avons accordés.

deren Herzen mit Furcht erfüllt sind, wenn Allah erwähnt wird, und die geduldig tragen, was sie trifft, und das Gebet verrichten und spenden von dem, was Wir ihnen gegeben haben.

ایسے لوگوں کو کہ جب اللہ کا نام ان کے سامنے لیا جائے تو ان کے دل کانپ جاتے ہیں اور ان لوگوں کو بھی (خوش خبری دیدے) جو اپنے پر نازل ہونے والی مصیبتوں پر صبر کرتے ہیں اور نماز کو قائم کرتے ہیں اور جو کچھ ہم نے ان کو دیا ہے (ہماری خوشنودی کے لئے) اس میں سے خرچ کرتے رہتے ہیں۔

Commentary:

This verse gives the fourfold object of sacrifice or the four characteristics of المخبتین i.e. those who have realized the real significance of sacrifice. (1) Their hearts are filled with fear when Allah is mentioned; (2) they patiently bear all sorts of hardships and privations in the way of God; (3) they purify themselves by saying their prayers regularly and punctually and (4) they serve mankind with all that God has bestowed upon them—with all the means at their disposal.

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

جن کا حال یہ ہے کہ اللہ کا ذکر سُنتے ہیں تو ان کے دل کانپ اٹھتے ہیں، جو مصیبت بھی اُن پر آتی ہے اُس پر صبر کرتے ہیں، نماز قائم کرتے ہیں، اور جو کچھ رزق ہم نے اُن کو دیا ہے اُس میں سے خرچ کرتے ہیں

Who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts are fearful, and [to] the patient over what has afflicted them, and the establishers of prayer and those who spend from what We have provided them.

وہ لوگ جب الله کا نام لیا جائے تو ان کے دل ڈر جاتے ہیں اور جب ان پر مصیبت آئے تو صبر کرنے والے ہیں اور نماز قائم کرنے والے ہیں اور جو کچھ ہم نے انہیں دیا ہے اس میں سے خرچ کرتے ہیں
